Disapppointing maybe that he chose not to stay , ( and the managerial upheavals must be unsettling) but everyone has the right to move on. It's only the supporters who can't! I'm not sure the people at FC Utrecht would be impressed with that observation. I think it's a shrewd move. He can develop away from our obsessive meejah , will get more games than if we went to an EPL club and quite possibly better coaching. The Netherlands are a great place to live. He will be much better off as a person living abroad, and in the EU. At least he hasn't been 'lifted' by the vultures in the EPL.
It would be interesting to see the salary he will be getting - it must surely be better than the £180 per week he was on here.
Shows he wasn’t just chasing the money as some might have expected . Probably get some good game time
No they already have one of our best players ! Seems to be more one of those rumours posted by a fan rather an anything official tbh.
Re Blake, I guess we get less money as he hasn't gone to a UK team. Don't think FC Utrecht have links to EPL teams and they have a good reputation for bringing on youth products.
Asprilla on the move? http://sportwitness.co.uk/watford-p...ead-transfer-window-several-clubs-interested/
There was the usual Twitter link/chat but quickly got denied. However no doubt he will attract internet- particularly if he keeps improving and getting more games .
He has three years left on his contract, so no need to sell. If he is sold though, that might be the final straw for many - an indication that the club lacks ambition.
Or badly need the money as the debts are as bad as suggested. Quite agree from a football point of view would be a backward step.
English striker playing in France linked. Was once at Cardiff and on loan to MK Dons. Moved to France and started well in his first 2 seasons being top scorer and winning promotion before suffering that serious knee injury early last season. Came back at the end of the season scoring a late goal in Toulouse’s last game . At 28 with a dodgy knee might not be ideal but for a free a punt IF he can get fit and find some form.
Looks to be a done deal... http://sportwitness.co.uk/watford-p...ead-transfer-window-several-clubs-interested/
I would be disappointed if Asprilla left, as he's so young it felt like we could get a couple more seasons from him as he develops before selling on for a big chunk of money. One could imagine a slightly older Asprilla as a key cog in a promotion winning team. But that's what happens when you get relegated and don't challenge for promotion.
Swansea & Watford are in talks to sign USA George Bello on a free transfer. Bello can leave German club Arminia Bielefeld for free due to a clause in Bello’s contract. Dutch champions Feyenoord are also interested in the left-back.
Well two clubs have to miss out on signing him - and I'm guessing they both play in the Championship. But stranger things have happened...
In which case he'll sign for Swansea. As you can probably tell, I'm not in a very positive frame of mind over our club at the moment...
Apparently we're in another transfer race - this time for Bulgarian forward Georgi Rusev of CSKA. His 20 goal contributions last season turns out to have been just 5 goals - with 15 assists. If we sign him, I wonder who he'll be assisting? https://www.footballinsider247.com/...h-town-and-watford-race-to-sign-georgi-rusev/
