So Johnson resigns with immediate effect rather than face the MPs who would be recommended to suspend him for more than 10 days for lying to parliament. His hand maiden Dorris chooses to do the same thing, and the ludicrous resignation honours list is published. All of this takes place late on a Friday afternoon after Westminster is effectively closed down. Nothing to do with MPs going home of course. Have I got news for you is recorded on a Thursday.
Break ! Johnson démissionne comme député GB. La commission d'enquête parlementaire rend son verdict - il a menti au Parlement, donc il s'en va. Bon débarras !
The odious Tory Crispin Odey has been sacked by his own company. I doubt there could be a more deserving creature for that to happen to. https://archive.is/9Avju
French news describes him as a Dutch national with a mental problem. This is a tiny hamlet where everyone normally would know everyone, but this man was a recluse who didn't speak to others. It is just so sad.
The plight of the Palestinians always seems to be ignored by the media - who seem to favour reporting the plight of the Ukrainians. So I thought I'd post this - it's worth reading through.
I can’t ‘like’ this, but am glad you posted it. For me, it is a matter of pure racism that the plight of Palestinians is ignored.
Unfortunately it wasn't. If ever anyone needed a reason to steer clear of the Daily Fail - that home for right-wing, xenophobic, lying buffoons & bigots - here it is. https://www.politico.eu/article/boris-johnson-to-write-six-figure-column-for-the-daily-mail/
That being said, Politico had an article that suggested tRump ought to be pardoned to save any aggravation...
Politico was just one of the many sources that ran with the BoJo story though. Strangely, the only one I couldn't find was the Daily Fail itself.
Just as Sunik thinks Johnson is out of the way, a new police investigation is started into the parties held by No 10 during lockdown.
Dump your old fridge on some wasteland, and if you are caught you will incur a hefty fine, or even time behind bars. Hopefully the same rules will apply when it is found out who is responsible for this. https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/23...-packs-discovered-new-forest-farm/?ref=twtrec
BREAKING: Rishi Sunak faces a FOURTH by-election as Tory MP David Warburton quits as an MP over a sex and cocaine sting. He is actually sitting as an Independent since the whip was withdrawn.
A well deserved kick in the teeth for Johnson - parliament voted 354 to 7 in favour of the report. Still too many abstentions for my liking though. I sat through about three hours of the debate - thought Labour's Thangam Debbonaire was absolutely excellent, closely followed by the SNP's Deidre Brock. Rees-Mogg fawned all over BoJo with his speech, then strangely didn't bother voting. https://www.theguardian.com/politic...the-boris-johnson-privileges-committee-report
Normally a humourous read, this from Russ Jones about the life & times of Boris Johnson actually has me seething. How on earth Johnson is still a free man is beyond me. https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1670760179812450308.html
