A coach who comes to my work, said he had cancelled a session because he was in Milan for discussions. No idea how accurate he is or how well he knows Omobamidele, but he seemed pretty certain. As I said, probably wide of the mark, but interesting speculation anyway. We know he is off, so why not Italy? Would probably be good for him. They are the best defenders in the world!

"Great fleas have little fleas upon their backs to bite 'em,
And little fleas have lesser fleas, and so ad infinitum.
    And the great fleas themselves in turn, have greater fleas to go on;
While these again have greater still, and greater still, and so on."
Augustus De Morgan, A Budget of Paradoxes

Actually the inverse of the football analogy, but you get the idea .........

Ogbene from Rotherham rumour has resurfaced. 26year old RW should be available on a free, with Plymouth, Luton, Ipswich and Shef Wed rumoured to be interested

An Irish international, at 26 Ogbene is a versatile attacking player who played up front 22 times last season, as well as WR and other attacking positions.

WR is one of our weakest positions and his ability to play up front could give us another option. His weakness is in defence, compared to Ince, but at 26 he's just coming into his prime.

Weak in defence doesn't sound like what Wagner would be looking for with his pressing style

SW has stepped down as Sporting Director. Not sure how fans will react to this news. Leeds Utd seems to be his destination.

Norwich are interested in striking out a loan deal for out of favour winger Ryan Fraser from Newcastle United. The 29 year old has been frozen out of the side, having only played 311 minutes last season but is available to sign. His last appearance was in a 1-0 victory over Everton in October as a sub.

Fraser fits a need and the profile of players we're looking at. Didn't realise he was only 29. Probably knows a few of our squad from international duty too, and maybe Stacey if they overlapped at Bournemouth?

He still has two years to run on what is probably a relatively lucrative contract, I imagine his wages are too rich for any championship club. Our hope has to be an agreement with Newcastle along the lines of the Hayden deal, where his wages are subsidised in return for agreeing to buy him if we're promoted.

Hopefully he can match the productivity he had at Bournemouth, where he averaged a goal or assist every 4 games, mostly at a higher level. In general his goals/assists per season are lower than I realised, particularly considering how integral he was to Bournemouth for a couple of seasons. I do recall he had some spells where he was completely out of form, which is concerning, and he hasn't had a recent season showing he's "still got it". As with most of our business this summer though, it looks like we're trying to find value by "buying the dip".

Not a fan of this, he completely downed tools for Eddie Howe in their relegation season when he knew he would be leaving on a free and didn’t want to get injured

Bethnal is a reliable source. According to TransferMarkt, Fisher is a RB who can also play on the right of midfield. He turned 19 last month and had 25 appearances for Bromley, having come up through their youth system.

The Home Office has approved new Governing Body Endorsement (GBE) Criteria for international player visas which are effective from the opening of the June transfer window (14th June).

Effectively should mean that all English clubs can now sign up to 4 players that wouldn’t currently meet the points requirements for a work permit!

I think there's a staged introduction and some really confusing rules where teams earn these "GBE spots" based on the number of minutes played by English players over a period of time.

From what I've read, Gunn would count as English for example because he was eligible for England when he joined the club, even though he's now a Scottish international. Depending on who you read, I think we start with 2 or 3 of these GBE spots available. But it's a rolling assessment so we could open up more.

And he was born in England. Pretty sure that makes him English. :1980_boogie_down:

Well exactly, but had he played for Scotland before we signed him, then he wouldn't count as English for these rules, despite being born in England.

Adam Idah is Irish and now an Irish international, but if it's possible he could have been capped by England before his first Irish cap (and the home nations agreement on player eligibility is a royal pain to understand, and I can't dream up a scenario, this is only hypothetical) then he might count as English under these GBE rules.

Another confusion, Tim Krul and Grant Hanley qualify as homegrown due to the number of development years they spent at English clubs, but don't count as English towards this set of regulations.
