Good Morning. It's Tuesday 13th June, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Summerville faces double dutch decision Leeds have turned down a £10m bid from PSV Eindhoven for exciting Dutch winger Crysencio Summerville. The news comes, as it was revealed that he is currently in negotiations with Eredivisie rivals Feyenoord about returning to his boyhood club, three years after Leeds poached him for just £1.3m Both Summerville and Luis Sinisterra remain big Feyenoord fans, and would regularity meet up to watch them in action. The 21yo has three more years left on his contract, leaving potential suitors with little option but to stump up the £12m Leeds are asking for. Aston Villa and Borussia Dortmund have also expressed an interest, but for now at least, a return to Holland seems more likely. please log in to view this image Do Leeds need a reality check Leeds face an almighty reality check if they believe their current crop of players are good enough to win promotion back to the top flight. The news comes, after it was revealed that just two first team players (Forshaw and Robles) haven't made their retained list. It's a common misconception that just because they played Premier League football, it doesn't make them any better than those, applying their trade in the Championship. Leeds shipped 78 goals last season, more than any other top flight team. We can blame Managers all we like, but the reality of the situation is, we are carrying an awful lot of dead wood, much of which we'll need to rid ourselves off, before the rebuilding process can start. Like it or not, Leeds will lose their best players this Summer. The Vultures are already circling around Elland Road, ready to rid West Yorkshire's finest of any remaining talent, leaving little more than dross remaining. Adam Forshaw and Joel Robles have both been invited back to Thorp Arch for Pre-season to show their worth, whilst Will Brook and Scott McKinstry will leave Elland Road with immediate effect. Academy prospects Ben Andreucci and Jay Buchan will leave the club when their contracts expire. please log in to view this image Cameroon international strongly linked with ER move Greek media outlet 'Novasports' claim holding midfielder Pierre Kunde could be on his way to Elland Road. The former Atletico Madrid prospect plays as a holding midfielder, a position Leeds need to fill as a matter of urgency. Marc Roca is expected to seal a move to Real Bettis any day now (loan), whilst Tyler Adams is also expected to exit Elland Road this Summer. Kunde, 27, is a Cameroon international with 34 caps to his name, yet his stats look poor. Before going out on loan to Bundesliga outfit Bochum, had a Whoscored rating of just 6.30 (16th in squad). His rating dropped to an average of 6.25 (17th in squad) whilst with the German outfit. ‘ please log in to view this image
Good morning, I never really warmed to Summerville despite him clearly having some talent. I wouldn't pay any attention to whoscored, according to them Struijk and Kristensen were two of our better players last season. I don't know anything about Kunde but both the Greeks and the Germans seem to think he's crap.
Morning all On the Summerville point, I would be heading to Dortmund if I was him. His career development would be outstanding just look at Bellingham, Sancho and Haaland. Kunde seems to be all but done and dusted by the looks of reports this morning. He's supposedly packed his bags and heading to the airport and we're the only club in for him. Robles is off to Everton IMO especially if the Pickford rumour is true. Forshaw, I would just not even bother with him he's too injury prone. The window opens tomorrow.
Morning all. Firstly, my concern with all this is that these decisions shouldn’t be made until we have a Manager / DoF and head coach in place. Secondly, I’d ignore the retained list, we have let go two players we won’t get any money for. Thirdly, we need to stop spending money on punts from abroad and pick the best off our championship rivals.
Whoscored ratings are algorithm driven… nothing wrong with the concept just not sophisticated enough to be meaningful in my view. Certain positions are always flattered by them and no context. You can’t compare within a squad unless you’re comparing the same position in the same formation. You can’t compare across teams because performance as a team impacts in the individual. Bit of fun. Pretty useless. As Tommo says. Struijk’s rating says it all really. Doesn’t mean this guy isn’t gash of course If it’s true, who’s authorised it?
No me neither the team needs a rebuild with a player for each position and suitable reserves. We need mids who score and create goals. A striker who is ice cool in front of goal and a far better goalie. If wober will stay with cresswell and cooper then we can use rasmus there too if needed. A left back who can actually defend would be a bonus when did we last have one?.
Good morning everyone. I Wouldn't we are about to enter an important phase in our clubs History, we need not only good players, but also players who want to stay and commit to the shirt, to get us back to the PL, those that are injury prone or fancy other clubs rather than fight for their own can go. i am also relying on a quality manager, a Potter or Rogers to over see this difficult task, not not the untested or journey men, imperative we get promotion in the first or second year, because if we don't 49r's will more than likely lose interest and sell, we then may be back to a long time in the wilderness.
It’s a pity he never kicked on. Bielsa always seemed to think that there was a player in there somewhere.
Morning all. Nothing to contribute lads as to be honest Ive no interest in the speculation stuff. Roll on first week in August when the picture begins to become a little clearer. Hope everyones keeping well
Hay saying Leeds want Rodgers but obviously hasn’t seen the Celtic story. Lazy journos trotting out the usual suspects but if 49ers want immediate return and to show intent, then bring in a top coach and a couple of top players and get rid of some dross. It’s that simple Parag, don’t give us coaches who might be ok, we need better quick
Tip top here old chap.. Off up yorkshire dales in the morning till sunday. Maybe we will have some news by then..
Agreed. Probably our best attacking player apart from Rodrigo and still has three years left on his contract. £12m is too cheap to let him go. Better and more consistent than Gnonto and Sinisterra imo. Gnonto alone would bring in £20m+ so if we sell any wingers he should be the one to go.
