It's the trajectory that's the issue. The prem has a so called 14 club rule that ought to prevent the total take over but the reality here is every single club owner is dreaming of the takeover and to he'll with the fans. French football for example might as well be folded. It's utterly pointless now, however is is much worse than Germany or Spain in terms of competition, not really. England has many many clubs in the deloitte rich list due to its sharing out of TV money. It means the league gets more attention but that very attention is what the sharks want. Golf is now dead, I'll never even listen to a commentary or preview again. Wwe and ufc were not my thing as an adult but again dead Football will be next
City are definitely breaking the FFP rules. But as long as Premier League doesn't have the balls to actually take real action there isn't much we can do besides keep trying. As I've said before. I don't expect Premier League to ever make any strong stance because they've become accustomed to the money brought in from overseas money. As soon as they punish City they illegitamise the last decade of PL football and that can only hurt the Premier Leagues global dominance and send more foreigners back to watching Spanish football instead. So, as long as the PL encourages teams to break FFP, all you can do is play knowing you're fighting an uphill battle. We've beaten City once. We or someone else will beat them again one day. Until then, City will just keep up racking wins.
That’s why I didn’t answer Lmao thought it was just way too obvious Diego not that stupid lol Knew exactly what he was doing
I will counter this. How many people watch the bundesliga, ligue or serial A. They've not got a huge following outside of the home nation. Simple reason, before a ball is kicked, you know who's going to win. People want to see competition, excitement, the chance of an upset. City have taken that away. If the prem don't do something, it's self harm
used to watch a little la liga 19 years ago when it was messi, xavi, iniesta AND free on sky sports as a bonus. the second it was off it was meh. same for Germany. the average fan has no time for this in their lives. in reality I can say the same about watching anything bar highlights of half the prem. I couldn't give a **** what palace v Burnley will be like next season etc. who's got time for it bar their own side anyway.
I doubt you meant to, but you've proved my point. There's got to be a reason to watch, there's got to be a reason to pay that subscription. There's a massive amount of fair weather fans out there. If they get bored, theyre happy to move onto the next thing. They won't think twice. They may buy all the merchandise, shout and scream thar they're who ever through and through, but once they're bored they are gone. Once they're gone, no more export fees, no more sky subscription, no more shirt sales. Its done. The prem is just like the bundesliga 1 team dominating, and no one gives a ****.
The irony of this. You're just as bad as anyone you criticise Why not watch Valencia with Mendieta, David Villa, Pablo AImar, Ever Banega. Or Athletic Bilbao with Llorente, Teto or Iraola. Or Sevilla with Navas, Kanoute, Saviola. Or Villareal with Requelme, Capdeville, Cazorla? Some great teams with top players. But you know, my man wants to watch a club with the most expensive team assembled at the time
yes I was agreeing with you. that is why imo sky were hyping arsenal for 6 months and convinced their fans that the likes of gabriel or xhaka were good enough. the rest of us were just waiting for City to pile on and once arsenal lost the home game were convinced it was just a matter of time mind you we were waiting for City when Leicester won the thing as well but the final year of pelligrini was one of their few **** ups at this point we have swapped grossly over spending Chelsea for City pulling every trick in the book (why the tax man has not gone in I don't know, I really really dont). chelsea were the most successful club in England for a period. that's now eclipsed. however as of yet city have not dominated fully. the fa cup hasn't been a locked down competition. the league cup dominance has had a pause. City i think quite possibly could add another 300mil fake sponsorship when newcastle do and we will see more and more signings. I am utterly bemused thst the tax man has never gone in to put guardiola and others (players who like aguero were on very average declared wages) under investigation for tax the football authorities are trying to react slowly to the utter madness and waste at Chelsea (who are now a badly run, yank effort and mixing it with the oil states) squad caps must come in x players above 21 x players 18 to 21 only local players under 18 etc wages and transfer fees capped in revenue is pointless if you allow clubs to then dope their revenues (Newcastle already starting) what has taken fsg 12 years to build on a global brand I predict will be done in 2 by Saudi Arabia for a laugh.
meh. as I said when you see the product in the cl and its free on sky then you see the rest. I never mentioned any other team. you did. again once sky have la liga removed fr9m being able to view the thing I was done. I'm not going to chase multiple subs nor illegal stroma to follow leagues. as I said Barca at the time happened to have 3 of the best (plus busquets) players that came through. I could say in 2003 and 2004 you had to go out of your way to watch arsenal team with Henry and Pires etc. that was the same but now? I wouldn't even switch on man city games
Mate 19 years ago none of those you mentioned were playing Xavi possibly. Anyway the point was YOU mentioned Barcelona and at the time Xavi, Iniesta and Busquets were in their pomp they had THE most expensive squad/purchases. And guess who was in charge? I know bcos I was watching La Liga on Sky as well, and those other teams & players I mentioned were also playing. And I enjoyed watching them just as much.
MITO watched Barcelona like some bloke in Thailand is watching City right now bcos they've got the players and footy he enjoys watching.
I'm not sure how these media contracts work but it's a shame when football that was free (or lets say included within the subscription) gets pulled. Something does get lost I agree. Do you remember when Serie A was free on Eurosports? And every week they used to do a run down of the top 20 teams in Europe. It was all a bit raw and there were a whole lot of top players scattered across Serie A so a lot of clubs were great to watch. Much like La Liga 15-20 yrs ago. The thing about it back then was that ANY club you watched was full of top players. Which was the point I was making when stating those other clubs in La Liga.
The money in the premier league is a blessing and a curse. It gets the attention worldwide and will continue to get the attention because it has the most money and concentration of great players. Just like La Liga did when Madrid and Barcelona had all the top players. City domination will stifle that a little, but other countries will want to watch England as long as it's the richest and has the top players. For comparison look at F1. Most years it's one sided. Too much money, actually racing isn't the most exciting but it gets watched worldwide because it's the richest most exclusive racing series. If F1 wasn't so boring, even more people would watch it... But it's not going to be replaced by rally, or Indy car, on international TV viewing rights as long as it's where the most money and best drivers end up. PL has more to lose by punishing City than they do letting the league be a boring one sided slog each year. EPL is now the F1 of football leagues.
in case you missed it Barcelona is in another country so it might as well be Thailand. you said you watched Spanish football and all so yawn. you started to make a point but got distracted by cheap wummery
No I'm comparing you to some bloke in Thailand who gets all his PL football viewing for free but chooses to watch City bcos they're flavour of the month, the richest club with the best players bcos that's all he knows. I've got no problem with anyone watching La Liga. What I find funny is that you can't see the irony of you watching Barcelona, the fanboys favourite at a time when there were so many other good sides with top players also in la liga. Barcelona who were by far and away the biggest spenders at the time I might add.
yawn. whatever point you had is long since wasted at this point. as I said I'm not arsed with this level of wummery.
