He sat in Bayern’s reserves for a few seasons, why not Barcelona’s reserves?

The PL is an unforgiving place. Some footballers who do well in slower, less physical leagues, just can’t hack it here, Before he came I worried about Roca’s physicality but watching him it was mainly a lack of pace and his inconsistent passing (meant to be a strength) that looked the problem.

All said, in combo with Adams earlier in the season he actually helped us control a number of games. It’s a water carrier role and not always easy to 'look' good in. He didn't miss chances, lose possession needlessly for opposition to score directly, (well once at Leicester i remember!) let soft goals in etc. If those things hadn't happened we'd have stayed up and we might view him differently.

The team take communal responsibility for what happened but its possible for certain positions to do ok and be let down by others. I'm not singing his praises here, i'm not a huge fan, just putting a different perspective.

Sinisterra didn't have a bad injury record previously. But this year has been a disaster. Real shame as he looks a proper player when fully fit. And that goals/minute record for a none-striker is pretty impressive. Did smash the cross bar at leicester, and miss a few sitters as well!

He looks genuine premier quality. Only the medical team will have an idea whether the injuries are consecutive bad luck or the signs of a sicknote. Would love him and Adams to stay ahead of anyone, but they'll be the most in demand with Jimmy and Gnonto.

well it's only 3 years really as he wasn't a regular at 19, but, yes I forgot the year out with the cruciate... but since then <laugh>

He played 71 games out of a possible 93 in the dutch league in those 3 years... though he'd have missed more in the season he did his cruciate if the season wasn't curtailed for covid. One other injury for a month in that time.

So def worse than i remembered but really it was mainly one bad injury... not a series of ongoing niggles and set backs.

So saying all this it might be worth someone picking up Sini for decent money and keeping Gnoto. I don’t think we’ll keep both Gnoto and Sini as they play the same position and both are championship starters. Harrison is that position too so we’ll probably sell 2/3.

@Emu might get his wish: Leeds United are planning an ambitious move to sign Coventry City midfielder Gustavo Hamer.

He's better than Roca, Aaronson, Greenwood, Forshaw.

Give em another 20 mill for Gyokeres and we'll go straight back up.

This is what I find so annoying, it seems such an easy answer, Cresswell was one of the best CB's in the Championship, Drameh one of the best RB's two seasons running. Hamer one of the best midfield players and Gyokeres best strikers. We have a fairly simple task of having all four in the squad, the finances are there with those leaving. Throw in Summerville, Gnonto and at least a 2-3 from Adams, Wober, Sinisterra, James and Gyabi and would it really matter who the coach was, don't get that team promoted and you really do have a problem

To be honest, if Gerrard is appointed at Leeds, I'll be completely indifferent to the club and its results. A bit like when Cellino had it. That's how bad that appointment would be imo.

Waiting for EFL to check the 'fit and proper' owner test. They've had it for nearly a week now. The PL okayed it in a day.

As soon as that is checked off then things should start moving. It might be an exodus before signings come in though.
