Sarah Millican & Michael Macintyre....there's two i would suggest. Bill Bailey as a third....a talented bloke musically, but I don't find him funny at all.
Personally I like Bill Bailey, but he's an acquired taste so not everyone will. Sarah Millican, though. About as funny as a dose of leprosy. My mate says her whole act is basically "I'm a fat Geordie housewife" and I agree with him. She can't tell a joke to save her life so plays on being a fat, Geordie woman to hide it.
I just don't get his live act. Clever, talented bloke without a doubt...I just don't find him funny. Not even sure if he's meant to be tbh. You're mates right by the way....that just about sums her up.
Too many panel type shows incorporate ****e comedians. Billy Connolly will always be a favourite. I do like Peter Kay and Kevin Bridges more recently.
All the modern ones. Whitehall, Acaster, etc. Absolutely no edge to any of them. All the decent comedians now are people who either start late in life after another job or have grafted for years.
I’ve never seen him do his own act but my daughter watches ‘would I lie to you’ and he’s funny in that
Lee Evans is probably the most annoying humourless man I've ever seen ... ... I'd go down with the ship rather than share a lifeboat with him.
Depends upon how you judge them of course. Panel shows never show a comedian at their best. Bill Bailey and Jason Manford live shows are amazing, bill Bailey is one if the cleverest you’ll see. Everything about him oozes class in his stand up show. I saw Chubby (supported him too way back in the day) and he’s such a lovely fella off stage, and a complete twat on it (cost me sex when my band supported him I reckon!). How anyone can say Bill Bailey isn’t funny is beyond me though!
I've never seen him as a stand-up comedian, but Lee Mack is very sharp and witty, and he's absolutely brilliant on 'Call my bluff' . . . . him, David Mitchell and Rob Brydon make this a fantastically funny show As mentioned above, I can't understand how anyone could consider Sarah Millican & Michael Macintyre funny
Bob Mortimer is the best on that show. His stories, true or lies, are the funniest. Has Mitchell round his little finger.
Don't even remember the name but the bloke that won Britains Got Talent last year I found as funny as constipation. Watching him, I realised that although I found Amanda and Alisha totally annoying, my admiration for their ability and devotion to their ''act'' increased because of the way they managed to force out their false cackles of ''laughter''
There's nowt worse than when people do that ... ... one of the reasons I stopped watching Gillette Soccer Special. "He's hit the beans on toast Jeff."
Must be a nightmare for comedians these days with so many no go areas due to our woke society , racism, sexism , ageism, their are so many people you can offend it must be difficult and the ones I mention are the tip of the iceberg .
And yet it seems that comedian’s “ of colour” think it’s ok for them to make humour and mockery of the “ of colour” topic
A big part of comedy is the nervous tension then the punchline ... ... remove that and it becomes something else. Many of the comedians I've paid to see have done nothing but insult every aspect of the audiences lives and circumstances. For the 'recreationally outraged and offended' this is a concept they're too weak minded to appreciate. So the majority are, once again, being dictated to by a shouty minority. Having your religion, politics and means ridiculed used to be an outlet to laugh at yourself and a reminder that all the community were pretty much all in the same boat ... ... new we have mental health issues, division and panic attacks.
This BGT guy’s un funniness was further highlighted by the necessity for the canned laughter to be used, sometimes whilst they showed a shot of the audience sitting quiet and Stoney faced !
Reminds me of the time I had a go at stand up and lost my nerve ... ... should never have started on Easter Island
