I don’t hate Hay, it’s just that he is always second to the news. Radz obviously froze him out and after all these years you’d have imagined he’d have gained a few secret squirrels feeding him him gossip.
He really is a big fan, he’s admitted getting up at 3am to watch them live, watched them at venues like St James Park, has a great knowledge of the team, met the players, he’s a bit of a super fan. Which makes his investment either very fickle or purely looking for a quick return. Maybe a bit of the 49ers trying to capture some of the USA market, who knows. I’m super please the takeover is going through, worried a bit about 60 investors of this calibre onboard. Apparently it’s been confirmed 60 investors, 11 of which are considered major, only the 11 major ones need to pass the fit and proper test
Agree the number of investors is a concern, just in it for a quick flip, even the 11 is too, nowt we can do, other than hope it works. But too many cooks does spring to mind.
It also makes investment in players complicated to the extreme, another reason I’m pretty sure the only investment we’ll see in the squad is from funds raised by sales, you’d hope not an issue this season
I suppose it is just for a quick flip then we just have to grasp on to the idea that it's in their interest to get us up to the PL, increase stadium capacity which puts the club in to the billion pound category and sell up. If that happens then I think we'd all be okay with it.
From how I read it, there is a separate fund, for player purchases. I would think player sales will be added to that fund, no idea what amount is in this fund though
Countless reports saying Firpo and Roca will be sold to Real Betis next week. Both are wanted by a number of European clubs but Firpo started at RB before Barcelona signed him.
