Blimey, this got me out of retirement. A once fine football club and previously popular even with supporters of other clubs is now in quite a mess and rather ridiculed by many. Apparently though you shouldnt criticise unless you have the vast amount of dosh probably needed to take over - Ridiculous ! Best Wishes from Kermit The Frog. Maybe Mr Pozzos getting bored, and now his rewards arent so great ,but must admit it could be difficult to find anyone wanting to take the club over in its current state. Considering the lack of communication with supporters he's lucky Watford people are such a placid lot.
"Pozzo Out" is not a criticism, it's a demand! Nobody is particularly happy at the moment, probably not least the Pozzo's themselves. It's their business, money, and reputation at stake. Until I decide that they no longer have "our" best interests at heart and there is a viable alternative to improve our club, I will continue to support them: I don't see that yet
Is it my imagination, or has the PR gone downhill since Dave Messenger left his role? Richard Walker who is doing the job has a large list of other functions to carry out.
Seems so . Since COVID really when the club were very good at reaching out to fans in need. Probably another health and safety situation? Some more positive WFC news though. Yaser Asprilla called up by the senior Colombian squad. Good luck to him. https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...s-colombian-midfielder-asprilla-senior-squad/
Sounds like it's been resolved now, but it is sad to see the club failing to do the right thing first time round. Even when things weren't great on the pitch, I always felt the club generally looked after fans and the community, and it's important to do that to preserve the culture of the club and the wider support from the town.
Gosling, Cleverley and Cathcart offered new deals. All very predictable. Only surprise is they haven’t agreed a new contract - probably not saying much if we cannot afford what they want . No one in contract was going to leave (be released ) which I think some expected .
So the media, including the WO are banned from the fans' forum. I thought this was an own goal by the club until I read the article and discovered it is a ban by the fans. www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/23577164.media-not-invited-pozzo-duxbury-fan-event-next-week/
Koné called up by Canada for their Nations League Finals matches next week. https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/23575333.watfords-kone-canada-squad-nations-league-finals/
That is a shame . Regular readers of the WO would want to know what was said. Not all are on Twitter etc or listen to podcasts.
They will still get to know - just not as instantaneously as they might want to. Patience is not something today's generations understand - with information at their fingertips these days, I often wonder if they would have coped, as I had to, with sometimes having to wait 3 months for football results.
Daniel Bachmann named in the Austria squad to play Belgium and Sweden. https://www.watfordfc.com/news/inte...arts-for-young-lions-duo-earn-senior-call-ups
Yes as were the Southern Counties Hornets . Of course now those not selected think it’s a closed shop and there won’t be any hard hitting questions. WFC forums not happy in particular but then maybe they shouldn’t compare Pozzo or the club to the Nazis as some basically did ! The club have had concerns over the behaviour. of fans on Social media although think having a few banners at times doesn't mean they ought to be kicked out but maybe more went on than we think. And there will be some who won’t accept what is asked or said unless Gino etc are literally on their knees or carried out on a stake ! It’s a shame there is such a divide in the fanbase and people trying to set things up seem to be getting it in the neck. Better than nothing at all. And anyway getting new owners is hardly like just going out to the shops for food or clothes shopping where you can pick and choose what you want. Also there is no guarantee on the pitch we'd suddenly see the passion, commitment etc everyone wants to see. Many a club have had new ownership and not been better off... unless it';s a rich oil state. That isn't to say issues need to be sorted and improved at the club but better to make your points to those rationally and constructively rather than rant and rave.
Yes and not so long ago they were loved I think after promotion so shows how things change . Isn’t it the 49ers taking them over? Will Leeds start being like an American football team ! Might suit their reputation.
