It is a shame. Because their careers have halted through no fault of their own - just unfortunate circumstances. To be fair, they did become available at times but Klopp lost faith and just didn't pick them. I still maintain that Ox now would have been a better option at RCM than Hendo or Harvey.
Indeed, and I'm not particularly blaming them. But those two with Fabinho were our last big midfield beef-up and given age, profile etc. should have been mainstays for the last five years. Unfortunately, apart from Fab it didn't really work out like that.
Indeed. We move on. We will be witnessing the dawning of a new era. If we get the expected signings we will have a good mix of age and experience, youth, pace and power.
Southampton have put a £50m price-tag on reported Liverpool target Romeo Lavia, but are unlikely to see it met.
Tbf everyone’s seasons left in the game are counting down lol Just some are closer to zero than others
I don't see Lavia joining us. It just doesn't feel right. And if we really are getting Thuram and Kone that would be a lot of midfielders in one window.
Apparently after signing Alex Mac we've ended our interest in Mason Mount. I don’t know if him preferring Man Utd and agreeing personal terms with them played a role as well.
I mean, if we're truly getting Mac, Thuram, and Kone, I think it's a bit unrealistic to go for Mount too. I like Mount, but his wages are a bit high and whereas, I'm not an accountant, and it's not coming out of my wallet, high wages subtract from any future transfer budgets so he's probably not the best option for us long term.
Not going to happen but Salah has been linked by a few hacks as being the target for Al-Hilal. Saudi Arabia, the place where once good footballers get turned into glue.
Wouldn't be surprised if Mount was a smoke screen. Good player and would have been an opportunistic signing at the right price (given his contract status) but if the fee and wages are going to be too high, then no point.
Spanish. another false 10. who really knows until something is done. the difference is macallister is really to go at 24. these other links are younger so maybe not so ready.
I'm going to predict mount will go nowhere. I doubt even utd will pay 70mil for the guy when they could get for nothing in 12 months? chelsea seem utterly unconcerned by ffp despite being 100mil in the hole and will 100% be charged once accounts are published. I'd be shocked if they don't go even worse the next years as well. if cheslea don't start taking money in soon (21 days time) then they should be given a transfer ban.
anyone can replicate a couple of crocks. look back to aquilani time. I'm sure we have had more crocks at the same as well. my personal favourite was Mark Wright and molly, whelan, and a few others that should have been got sut of back in the early 90s.
when you are in the Championship it's difficult to get the full whack. if someone pays it fair enough but again I'd expect that to rumble on during preseason until player takes it into his own hands. you have to be willing to do business.
