For context - he's the largest shareholder (10%) in Qinetiq, who were awarded an 80 million quid IT contract in January this year.

Qinetiq were doing aircraft servicing at RAF Finningley when I arrived there for my first tour in 1994. They have a long history of defence contracting.

But yes - he gave Johnson a million quid and he immediately rewarded him with eighty million despite no longer having the authority to do so.

    Sigh.

Anyway, in June 2023, Trump is in a bit of bother yet again.

Presumably we'll get some kind of explanation as to why keeping classified documents at Mar A Lago is a problem, but keeping classified documents in your garage in Delaware isn't. Presumably it's scale.

Presumably because once the documents in Delaware were identified they were immediately handed over whilst the documents in Mar a Largo were not. It would appear that efforts were also made to deny there were any classified documents in Mar a Lago and then to state that they had been declassified.

But what do I know about these matters, sitting, as I am in the NE of England where my next task is to go and purchase a tree and then plant said tree even though its completely the wrong time of year to plant a tree. The things we do for love eh :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Good luck with the tree. Slow going with the two we planted in our back garden last year.

I think the worst thing they could do is offer no explanation at all or just wave it off. That would feed right into Trump's narrative that different rules apply when it's him involved. Close that line of bullshit straight away.

I wonder if The Liars WhatsApp messages will shed any light on these dealings?

Okay totally off topic, I have a 20ft-25ft of 5ft trellis to cover.
As I most definitely do not have a green thumb and leave all gardening matters to greenkeepers. Advice would be helpful

Off to Leamside garden centre to chat to them shortly.

Suggestions I have had to date are plants such as honeysuckle, wisteria etc. And or apple/pear trees espalier?

Yes definitely back-tracking. If I understood the proposal, the spend was going to be by borrowing/bond issue. However if interest rates have gone up...

If I was buying a car and was going to borrow £20,000 to do so, cos I could afford the repayments over 4 years. If interest rates go up and I want to keep the same repayments, then the amount I borrow will go down.

I'm NO gardener so cannot offer.much in the way of advice. All I would say is avoid fast growing climbers such as Russian vine otherwise known as the mile a minute plant with very good reason.
It depends on what you are looking for, is it year round privacy if so, look for an evergreen plant. Is it scent then certainly Honeysuckle or Star Jasmine come to mind. If it's produce then you have already mentioned pears / apples but I thought pears did better growing against a warm wall.
You are doing the best thing in seeking advice so don't rush into it.
Then again I was thinking about the layout for my garden for almost 3 years before I had to start following some errr suggestions from my young lady lol

If you just want it covering quickly, go for a clematis Montana but if you want something that will be worth while go for espalier fruit trees.

I am warming to Reeves, although she can be a bit corporate in her language. I think she may be a good chancellor.

U turns are necessary. This one is. If she didnt do it she would be doing us all a disservice. The problem we have with the tories is nobody reads beyond the headline as everyone knows they are hopeless. The reality is though the language of u turns is just daft and a bit pointless to be honest. Headlines get repeated but the detail, when shared, is often overlooked. We need people to change direction when circumstances change.

I agree. Maybe if Labour hadn't gone balls deep on 'U TURN! U-TURN!' then they wouldn't have to face accusations of it now. All about short term points scoring though. The Tories will do the same and then be offended next time they change policy and be accused of it.

I read that as arsonist first time <laugh>

I've just made an area to hide the bins and planting hydrangea in the troughs. I put camouflage netting as a cheat until they grow.

That’s the correct decision considering the absolute state our country is.

Probably. And if everyone wasn't so tribal we could all say so.

But all we can say is U TURN.

Unless gas prices come down I may take the gas fire out and put in another wood burner. Mind if I did that I bet my son will change jobs, so no more free/cheap wood
