We going to have anyone left? Seems like a lot of clubs want our “terrible” players. Makes me even more angry as it looks like they downed tools knowing their agents were getting them out of our club. ****ers
I'm not saying it's true but the reasoning is that Busquets is leaving this summer and Barcelona need to reduce bills by €200 million again this summer. Roca is a cheap replacement for Busquets.
Every club has a stack of players on their ‘target lists’ ie players they’ve scouted and/or checked out with agents. It doesn’t mean they are serious about buying them. If a club gets relegated suddenly two things happen: 1. Players that have release clauses (which a lot of leeds players apparently have… and salary reduction clauses which all Leeds players apparently have… suddenly become more attractive to the clubs ‘interested’ in them as they are available for less and the salary expectations are reduced. 2. The players agents have clients earning less, so are very incentivised to move them on… and will stir, release details of past interested parties to motivate others to put an offer in etc etc.
Yes but to jump from a relegated team to the Liga champions and champions league football? Must be a player in there that we never saw or it’s bullshit.
Are you absolutely sure though Seriously wouldn't it be better to make some of the better players stay and sort this mess of their own making out ? Unless you think the likes of; Sinisterra Rodrigo Gnonto Summerville Wober Koch Roca ...aren't good enough for the Championship either ?
If they want to leave then **** them off. If they commit to the club then they will have to be assessed to ensure they are up to the task. If they aren't deemed good enough then **** them off. In reality, it's clear that we won't get rid if the whole squad. Now, a better way to phrase it would be to say that I won't be upset if any of them leave. I'll be super happy if the 'leadership group' leave. Players not good enough for this seasons Championship would include Meslier, Ayling, Kristensen, Koch, Llorente, Struijk, Cooper, Firpo, Forshaw, Roca, Bamford. I don't want to see any as automatic starters next season. Get rid.
And how many of them, if they stay, will remain fit for a Saturday / Tuesday 46 game season in the championship? They couldn’t handle the physicality of the prem where you can barely tackle a fish supper.
I’d have serious doubts Sinisterra could last a dozen games in the championship, he isn’t robust enough
If he did stay fit though he'd score enough goals & provide the assists to fire us back up. Surely we'd be crazy to offload a player with that much talent based over fitness concerns, especially when it's not down to any long term issues but more a series of bad luck impact injuries plus pulls and strains etc. Always happened just as he was hitting is stride as well which is even more frustrating.
On the Sinisterra front he and Rodrigo smashed it in the league top scorers on accuracy, on goals per minute on the pitch and even better on goals scored for the season. Rodrigo scored 15 and Sinisterra scored 7 from 19 games but mainly bit parts. The league goals table for Leeds shows how shyt the rest were including Harrison who had his worst season in terms of goals and assists. Sinisterra if fitis deadly and his record elsewhere backs that up
So JH got 8 more assists than last season, 2 more assists than the season before, 2 more than when we won the Championship, and 6 more assists than Bielsa's first season in charge. So yes whilst 6 goals is his worst return since we got promoted to the Premier League, having scored 10 last season and 8 the season before, this is actually his best season for assists since he joined us. Based on last season he scored 4 less goals but got 8 more assists this season, so would love to know where you got your figures from Doc (for comparing previous seasons), to state that this is his worst season for assists. If we can keep him and raise and save enough with other sales great, it depends keeping him at the expense of who. If we can replace Bamford, I could see Summerville, Gnonto and James scaring a few defences as they fight for the other positions.
Exactly. Keep hold of Sinisterra, Summerville and Gnonto, with James coming back, replacing Bamford with a new striker with Joseph and Perkins covering - that’s the attacking positions pretty much sorted.
