Good luck mate. I think you'll need it. He is a slithering chancer, riding on the coat tails of richer men. Comfortably our darkest ever time. Not his fault we were in League One, but all they did was slash costs without a plan, which frankly anyone can do. They were both on the make, and it was a hallelujah day when they were both finally gone.
All chairmen do. They don't get that after as many years of ****e as we had, people need to be attracted back by an improving product on the pitch. Loyalty can only suffer so much piss-taking.
To be fair to Quinny, he was about fans packing in to pubs within easy walking distance of the ground watching matches being illegally streamed. Plenty will remember Privilege amongst others streaming games on dodgy foreign web feeds. I went myself and watched a few of our away games in a few pubs. Parasites is probably just what Methven thought we were anyway
I believe he mentioned this about away games, not home games? Not going to get hung up over something from year's ago when the football was dire. You can see why SC sales have broken 30k due to the quality of football now being compared to the Johnston and Summerbee days. Roll on next season.
The Reidy era was some of the most exciting periods of football I've watched. Last season remindered me so much of that, but the quality we are playing at now is on a different level.
Spot on marra. The football we saw last season was the best since we had a front line of Summerbee,Quinn,Phillips and Johnston....no doubt! But,it was better, more fluid, more skillful, more on the floor, much quicker tempo.....a reflection of how things have moved on in the Guardiola era. Can't wait for next season.
More guff Im afraid . Re his time here he claims that it went well because we were debt free when they left and that we got promoted. We were debt free because the previous owner Ellis Short decided to forego over £100m. He wrote it off. The debt free condition had nothing to do with them, and they sold several promising young players for anything they could get to help run the club. We were promoted because new people came in, appointed new staff, made intelligent transfer moves and started the rebuild of a club left stripped bare. Methven is a chancer. That will never change, and his evasive jargon in that piece only confirms it.
and to think, it'll started to crumble when a thick headed northerner that just so happened to be an accountant asked Stu where 10 million quid had went missing on twitter.
If you ever want to know just what people at Sunderland afc thought/think of him, just say his name out loud in the ticket office.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/66273715 It’s done. Here’s hoping that we don’t end up feeling the same as you gents and ladies, in about two years time.
There's a very deep well of resentment here but he might be a better fit with Charlton so good luck mate ... ... at least he won't be able to call you 'thick Norveners' We'll all be hoping that he fails miserably, but it's nothing personal.
Understood. Says he’s learnt from past experiences and realises he’s not good dealing with large groups. Fans ? We were going nowhere with our previous owner and the two lots before that were stripping the club of all assets and we were heading for a Bury situation. At some point our luck has to change ! Good luck to you for the new season
