I got my insurance for about 300 quid, 10 lessons for 150. ****ing ridiculous, that's worth more than my car! And that's just with me as a named driver, to have my own insurance would be about 1200!
I used to insure my BMW 7 (3500cc V8) series for £240 - but then >60, >10 years NCB, max 6000 miles per year, Berkshire.
I tried to get a quote on a Honda Civic Type R a few weeks ago (let's just say that work is going well), and it was about £7000 a year. the car was only worth 3k. And forget getting a quote as a twenty year old for an old Jaguar XJS. They wouldn't quote me happy.
It's not really fair to mention this because it might annoy younger readers - and I tell you this is not my intention. Please read on. A few years ago, I insured my 5 litre Porsche 928 for less than £250 per year and now have the NISMO 400 at about £880 per year. I do not wish to go into detail but what I am saying is that youngsters have it hard these days. P.S. Yes, fully comprehensive for both.
Bloody hell... Cost us a small fortune in insurance per month for a Focus and a Mazda cx7. Granted... no effer can drive around these parts.
Mazda CX 7? What the hell is that? I've never seen one at the Nürb as I remember. Is it an off-roader?
I wish.. lol. Little compact SUV thing. Works great for ferrying the kids and dogs too and fro though. The car that I really miss though is my old Volvo 850 T5. I thought I was Rikard Rydell in that thing..
It's ****ing stupid, and I cannot find a small hatchback that is cheap enough.... ****ing auto trader.
When I can finally get off my backside and do some lesson, can anyone help guess the insurance of a Ford KA (King of Student car's ) about 30k miles done, second hand. I'm thinking of buying one off my mates mum.
When getting a quote for a single policy, not on say parents cover, you can reduce cost by accepting a max mileage and higher Excess.
I got a '95 Fiat Punto 1.1 a few months ago from a used car site in Jersey, it's a nice little car (well, I've only driven that one and my instructor's!), but atm the engine fan seems to work when it feels like it, and a couple of days ago, driving along a straight road, the accelerator stopped working! It's fine now, but keeps overheating in traffic!
