I guess Burnley basically did have most of the second half of the season off! Probably just be fitness tests and light work out. https://www.burnleyfootballclub.com/content/pre-season-begins-squad-tested-on-first-day-back
What a struggle, but now the business of returning to the EFL begins. Well done to the fans who have come together to overcome the first hurdle. https://www.manchestereveningnews.c...otball-news/bury-fc-return-gigg-lane-27057656
There was a split between two sets of fans for a bit but glad they have managed to come together and create this deal which is great news for all Bury fans .
Fiorentina vs Stam. You're not missing anything much.. Fans are better shots with the beer beakers... awful game.
Well done to West Ham and Moyes. Very impressive. What a time and way to win it too . Shame a few idiot fans spoilt the evening to some extent for the majority.
Spared ET. You don't like watching some things that are unpleasant, but you find yourself drawn to having a sneaky peek. Well done to Moyes, but is this really a major trophy as some are describing it?
Guess it is for a side like West Ham. Bit like the league cup . No one is that bothered till they get to the latter stages . Thing is they will probably moan about too many games next season now !
Both this and the league cup are simply money making exercises. If you think back to the start of the league cup, it was designed as a means of giving teams knocked out in the first round of the FA Cup some additional income.
Including the Pozzi's, the plan was to be an established Prem club in 5 years (tick), then Euro football, came close with the FA cup but no cigar, then the downward spiral that we are still attempting to reverse
It's becoming a major trophy Frenchie. The winners automatically go into the Europa League in the following season. In the olden golden days we had 3 European competitions - European Cup, Cup Winners Cup and EUFA Cup and all were seen as worthy. But with the Champions League not being reserved for champions and having up to 4 clubs from some countries (5 in extreme cases) the other two have become 'losers cups'. The Champions League has devalued nearly all other competitions including domestic ones. Personally I preferred the old European Cup to the present format.
They should probably re-name it though - Conference League makes it sound so 'fifth tier'. I'm not sure if other European countries use the term but England certainly does - and Scotland nearly did until yesterday, when the planned introduction was scrapped as clubs and fans across the country overwhelmingly rejected it.
