I’ve heard it’s some dodgy deal to get him on loan at Barcelona. If he ends up back in Spain on loan, there’s going to be a few teams asking questions. Same as where Madrid getting their mom from, AGAIN!
I think the point has already been made that he doesn't have to stay with Spurs to remain in the Premier League, there will be a host of top 4 candidates after him, and that way he can go for the record and compete for trophies.
With that sort of money and the rumour Kane is being eyed up by them, I can't imagine they have money to buy him also.
I think the wording I saw "not at this stage" maybe means Brighton is playing hardball and that if their expectations drop maybe something can be agreed later on. I guess time will tell.
Heard they want us to pay for his medical expenses if he comes back on loan which is the sticking point.
oddly enough, in an interview Simon said he thought it was Warrington. TBH..I think we've done this to death. I feel like a Boxer taking a few blows.
Although, apparently he never got a firm offer from them. If he had gone to Barca, the deal was that other players would have to take a pay cut, and several backroom staff would be 'let go'. He didn't want that, so didn't pursue it. A mark of the guy, I guess you can say.
Or he could have gone there, taken a pay cut, after all he hardly needs the money now, and then no one would need to take a pay cut or be let go. If he wanted to go back so badly he’d surely compromise?
He was willing to take a pay cut, but Spanish regulations means a player can't just play for free, or even 50^ of his previous contract. Barcelona have yet to register many first team players for next season, which gives you an idea of how bad their current financial situation is. They will be registered due to sales and salary cuts, but Messi needed guarantees he'd be registered and they weren't able to give him them.
I heard a whisper at the weekend that a footballer called Sonny was looking to buy a property in the area.
