maybe I’m missing something but never really rated him tbh and on the whole avoid his films

He started doing some decent/serious films a few years back - Argo and Gone Girl off the top of my head, but this latest looks like his earlier ****e.

Probably better behind the camera directing than in front of it.

He was good in Air as a smaller part and The Tender Bar. I agree on Argo and Gone Girl both decent.

Just watching Casablanca.

It really is an absolute class film. Yeh 10/10

Bogey's 2nd best performance and still head and shoulders above many others.
You're first ever 10/10 win!

Well done son, you got there in the end.

Hypnotic

Trying hard to be inception ends up more insidious.

A mess from start to finish.

Bad/10

Reality

An interesting wee film that's whole dialogue is lifted from actual FBi recordings of the event.

Good performances from all the leads.

7/10

The Days

Limited Japanese series telling the story of the 2011 Yukashema Daiichi nuclear disaster.

Pretty vivid detailing of the workers on the ground and the government response.

Probably gets a wee bit bogged down on detail tbh. It's not a patch on Chernobyl but interesting non the less.

6.5/10

Watched Hypnotic last night. My old man picked up his crossword book after an hour. Utter garbage. I think the film itself got lost with which bits were real. Ridiculous ending.

1/10

Do you remember Monkey?

Him and Pigsy and the Fish guy having adventures with a Transvestite Buddhist Monk back in the 80s?

Well there's a new series out called American born Chinese. It has all those Chinese mythical gods in it and then some. Some really massive Asian actors appear as well.

Having watched a few episodes I'd say it's OK.

Doesn't have that Monkey magic though.

6/10

Do you remember The Water Margin?
Link Chung and The Tattooed Dragon fighting the badly who's name evades me atm.
Great stuff.

For Her Sins

I’ve just watched the second episode of the four part series on Channel 5 and so far it’s very good. I’d say 8.2/10, so far.

Fast X, gonna give it a 5.8, mainly for Mamoa, he's having a great time, and steals the movie.
Wasn't arsed about seeing it despite being a petrol-head, mates chose it, then bitched about how utterly ridiculous it was, while I laughed all the way through because of how utterly ridiculous it was.
Easily the most ridiculous F&F movie yet, watch it knowing that.

If you're going to watch a thought provoking movie and want a plot though, a very generous 4 (and Mamoa gets 5 of that)

You should have been too drunk to watch a film. Congrats btw.
