Absolutely agree best thing to happen to this football club for a very very long time. As you all know i wanted Nige and touted for Nige and was a happy bunny when it happened. The guy is changing this football club for the better and i tell you something players are looking at us in a different way today.
In what way, please explain? I don’t recall a single player joining us at any point before today saying “didn’t really want to be here, my agent made me”. Everyone always references a big club potential, great fans etc. etc. Until we sign players of PL pedigree, and with proven experience, then I don’t think players do look at us differently. Weather you (and others) like it or not, the closest we got to that was some much higher Championship finishes and a League Cup semi-final run under a previous manager. That is what makes players view our club differently, not 2 seasons of 50-55 points in each campaign. You can fool yourself it is if you like, but it isn’t!
I genuinely don't wish to renew debates about previous regimes good or bad,the gift I think Nige has given us is no matter how small, has been progress each season, small steps true but constant, he has stablilised our club on and off the field, previously in say the last 8 years we have had relegations, promotions, periods of big spending and then austerity, horrendous injury problems, successful periods, patchy, dull, monotonous phases, now it appears quite strongly we are over the storms and the sun is begining to shine. We are into the 3rd year with Nige, he said it would take 3 seasons at least before we could begin to think about promotion, now is the time, there is no doubt this is a NP team, style, team spirit, quality, players and game management must now prevail, progressive improvement must continue rapidly,I have never once heard Nige criticise or blame previous management player decisions, this season should see us up there challenging a top 6 finish to really demonstrate progress, all the indications are there and ducks aligned but you never know.
I really REALLY want Nige to succeed. I want to live to see us in the Prem - even if it’s just for one season.
It’s more the facilities and NP is a well respected and proven manager, of course that has an influence, it represents our ambition. edit I agree though not to the extent RR is suggesting.
Me toooooo -been waiting a blobby long time for a return-it is all in place-fingers crossed ehhhh guys.
After the last couple of days today seems bit of a let down with no prospect, or rumours of, a signing.
THE PLOT THICKENS ... Mr Blobby is now in the picture .. we are going to beat our opponents with slapstick comedy ... a masterful stroke....
