I’ve been accused in here as being naive yet on the same thread people think we could tempt Benitez, that’s as silly as suggesting Poch. Just a couple of months ago, and in an interview about his future Benitez said; “I have had several possibilities this season, but the conditions that I think are necessary were not there and I preferred to wait for another option,” Benitez says. “I have also had proposals from outside, but our preference has always been the Premier League.”
I’d love to welcome a top coach mate but just like I had to accept relegation earlier than I wanted to, I’ve resigned myself to a Parker or Gerrard type of appointment. Rogers, Benitez, Potter, they’ll all wait for a PL casualty. WBA nor Leeds would have been able to keep a Corberan approach quiet, it would be all over the news, I don’t believe we’re interested and I’m not convinced we should be. I’m on the fence regarding him. WBA are not stupid, if there was a chance of him going they’d hurry it through as they won’t want the unrest of finding a new coach in a week or mores time, they’d also want a free one, no compensation. Leicester are also looking at Gerrard now, it shows the lack of genuine availability at present. I think this will panic us into a quick decision on him myself
Mate, I only meant if you think everyone waits for permission before speaking / sounding out a manager or player.
I don’t see Hasenhüttl as being any better mate, two biggest defeats both 9-0 so he’d slot in nicely with our defence
Oh crikey no mate. I am in harvest and retain mode, got another two months of this to read before anyone knows what is going to happen, not the time to sell
Been busy with work so just catching up on today’s thread, Will do the same tomorrow. Just one question, Why is not acceptable to pay a fee or release clause for a manager in work when it is the norm for a player?
