Breaking news, the much maligned Saudi funded LIV tour is to merge with the PGA tour despite the latter slating it since its inception, and they say money doesn't talk !
The rich get richer, 'twas ever thus, and KSA get ever more influence in world sport. So much for all the bleating about human rights, who gives a **** anyway as long as they all get richer.
Two faced PGA bastards. Jay Monahan the CEO of the PGA slated LIV but when they offer him a trolley of money its ****ing different. I like LIV but he is a ****
I doubt many would turn down £200m a year after tax to have a really easy simple working life in any industry. Re Liv & PGA. It was always going to happen
I would imagine he has earnt more than enough already to have a really simple easy life. Genuinely don’t know what the Saudis hope to get out of these “ exhibition players” they are signing.
I'm sure he has, he's also won a hell of a lot and achieved more then most will ever do, so why not..... As I say, I'm sure almost all of us would do the same if someone offered us almost £200m net a year to do our job. I know I would. As for why they are doing it.... Probably just boils down to the fact they can and makes their home league potentially better, not to mention the fact it will probably make them money
I can't imagine McIlroy will be chuffed about this after he was critical of players that left the PGA!
Looks like most of the usual US sponsors will be edged out and almost every big event LIV sponsored. Not sure that will sit well with some of the big ones . So the LiV guys can now play in the RyderCup?
I think you have to be a member of the dp world tour to be on the Ryder cup team, so those who have up their membership won't be able to play on this year's Ryder cup team. Not sure if they'll be enough time to re apply
So what does Rory McElroy do now? He was most outspoken against Liv and turned down loads of money to join. Now Liv has taken overall control of all golf tournaments (they will claim they have merged) the Saudis are in charge. If he sticks to his principles he won't play anywhere and he wasn't the only one. Look out for some ringers turning up at your local golf club.
As already pointed out. PGA have sold out and left players like Rory high and dry. I'm sure they will all be chummy again moving forward. There isn't much in the world to like.

I think (although it’s probably too early to really judge) the new entity won’t mean LIV have control, although technically it’s the investment fund anyway rather than LIV (irrelevant I suppose) I think that allows Rory to simply carry on as before because he didn’t personally take the Saudi cash. And so it should really. Lots more to play out though, including Greg Norman getting sidelined
