I have to say I didn't want Joyce as manager but looks like he will be............Hold on before you start replying and read the full entry. Joyce is doing a great job for us at Man Utd as it stands and it's great having the young lads who are not quite ready for first team football at Man Utd- Campbell, Chester, Dudgeon, Brady etc. Losing Joyce from that position may dry up the knowledge and resources. We know Fergie trusts him and hopefully will keep a good relationship but who knows who is going to take over Joyces role!!!! That is the only reason I don't want Joyce - selfish I know. What I am looking forward to if Joyce is given the honour of becoming manager is a manager coming in that will automatically get fans respect. Atmosphere at the KC stadium recently has been like Pearson's interviews - FLAT and BORING!!! I honestly believe the way the manager behaves has an impact on the way fans are. In addition, having Joyce as manager may encourage the likes of Chester, Stewart an Brady (sign him up) to stay as he has worked with them before and they will trust him. The prospect of Joyce and Barmby as a duo is mouth watering.......bring Deano in as protection to keep Leicester away from poaching players!!! Thoughts anyone.
Is it correlation to prove causation or does anyone have any hard FACTS that Warren Joyce has anything to do with us getting a production line of United's youth? I just wonder if it is more to do with Sir Alec Ferguson knowing us well, trusting us as a club and knowing that the young lads that aren't quite good enough to break into their first team, will be well looked after by us. I still think there is an element of regret on the part of SAF as to what happened with regard to the Campbell incident(s).
think of all the games hes overseen over the last few years, involving other big sides reserve/youth teams, all the up and coming youngsters around the country he has inside knowledge of, waiting to be picked off! ( please note, i dont mean gary glitter style)
That's agood point about Campbell, I thought so at the time. It was thrown in at the last minute to clinch a deal and I understand SAF was annoyed by it. Frazier was locked on to come to us before that sting. They wasted his year anyway.
We can't plod on forever hoping that we get Man utd's kids though, so why not give it to Joyce now while he is well respected by the ex-Man u/loan players that we have now? Its a weird sort of situation when you can talk about continuity regarding another coach coming in from a different club, but its a good move on our part.
That or he's grateful we showed how crap he was so they didn't have to find out themselves. He was sold to Valladolid pretty much straight after our loan spell
Think he made some big errors getting both Manucho and Bebe. Bebe was playing homeless football before being signed by United.
They immediately realised he was ****e and loaned him out(then loaned him our again) and he managed 2 goals in 21 games in Turkey last season. He's now back playing for Real Valladolid in the Segunda División, where he's scored 1 in 4 games so far this season.
