The name calling started on your side, old boy.

Some of the points you made have some validity, but you only ever see negatives. Doom mongers piss me off.

How about a small financial interest in the series? You can have Australia, I'll have England. Draw no bet.

As a complete an utter neutral, l’m prepared to referee this if you can see your way to advancing me above that Kiwi chap on next season’s leaderboard, but please keep this just between ourselves, ok?

**** the Aussies even if they think their untouchable, we’ll they aren’t & we will be a different kettle of fish this time round with our brand of new cricket, might be some difficult times but we come through & win the series

I wouldn't back the Aussies, even with someone else's money. I've already got bets laid on the series, I've done 2-1 England, Root , Smith and Brrok to be top series runsscorer, Anderson, Robinson or Cummins to be top wicket taker. I just wish some of our players had had a better preparation !

It's interesting that the 1st test is at Edgbaston, where we have a very solid record. It's usually the 3rd or 4th test held there nowadays, we need to use the crowd and get off to a good start !

Jack Leach is out of The Ashes with a stress fracture to his lower back.

Ouch. Lot of overs for Joe Root then. And let’s ‘hope’ the groundsmen get the message……Leach has improved hugely but is still not top class. We don’t have any top class spinners, I suspect.

I'd take a chance on Liam Livingstone as replacement. Not top class as a bowler by any means, but he can bowl both off breaks and leggies and his batting would certainly fit the Bazball ethos.

I think we just need someone for variation and who we don’t mind being hit as long as a few go to hand.

I’m loving the new ethos, which is a surprise even for me as a traditionalist at heart.

Yes Leach has been better the last year, but i wouldn't have him playing v the Aussies anyway. They were gonna target him big time, I'd rather see our 4 best pace attack plus Stokes. Anderson, Broad, Robinson and Wood. Call up the young leggie as back up

    Fire & brimstone.................nice.

We certainly don't think we're unbeatable.
Like you guys, we have issues but we'll both give our best and try and make a good series out it.
As they say in the classics, may the better team win.

Aussies plodding along at around 4 an over and Smith getting some batting practice, not that he needs it......

What bright spark in the India camp said "you know chaps let's have a bowl this morning " Nassar Hussain esq.....

Good, hope they have a fantastic match and are crowned World Champions, whatever that means in Test cricket. Then we will take them to pieces, David Warner brings forward his retirement after Broad gets him for two ducks in the first test, and Pat Cummins will cry in a press conference after he’s found ****ing in the Long Room “the pressure got to me and I’d like to apologise to my wife and children”. Steve Smith hospitalised due to blood poisoning picked up when the gravel in his pocket included Chinese bat **** entering his system through a tiny cut in his so called spinning finger.

Right lads, who’s up for an away trip for the next series in Australia, 2025-26? Might be the last chance for some of us……

I'm in if I'm still around. Could be a great way to go out, streaking at the MCG and knocking the bails off with my todger lol. Mind you I'd have to get pretty close to the stumps to do that !
