Back in the day the cops would give you a good clout round the head as a kid, and you wouldn't dare go tell your mum because you'd get double the dose. Not saying it's right but it certainly made you think before you did something of the consequences - problem today there is no consequences, until you stab up some kid and are serving a life sentence for murder, and it's too late by then.
Did he already shoot the woman in the corner? Looks like some of the shrapnel hit the kid in the foot/leg.
