Iâm beginning to wonder if both clubs have some sort of bet about who can be the biggest laughing stocks. Here at Sunderland we get ourselves a fantastic chairman and top owner, splash the cash, move the good chairman, manage to lose 2 top strikers and now Sess wants out. We set the base for a top 6 finish, bring in the players then somehow **** it up. Over in Newcastle they manage to get a team gelling, new signings working, the manager managing and hit the top 3, fantastic. Then Mike decides to upset everyone by ditching St James Park and just to make sure its well ****ed up Lambwhoever decides to insult everyone with a black and white history. Now come on, rivalry aside, it must be for a bet, they would not do it for any other reason, would they. The way its going we will both go down and the smogs will come up, that would be a good laugh wouldnât it.
http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/tra...-for-a-move-back-to-France-article829875.html If it's true then it's a massive blow for them. But I can imagine fat head bruce asking for 15 million for him
Lol I really think the muckems are clutching at straws with the stadium name. Like it or not, DL has changed the stadium name and will increase the turnover by 10% which would buy us a Cabaye and a Tiote. Unfortunately, its going to be an indication of the future, we seem to be on the front foot with exploiting things financially and can see us having a sponsor for training kit as well. In a couple of years it will be the done thing and most clubs will have stadium sponsors I can't stand the man but he supposed to be a rottweiler when it comes to business and if he has managed to reduce a £35m loss last year to breaking even this year then you cannot really argue with the man, plus the fact we have made canny signings for very little dosh bodes very well for the future so I don't mind the mackems laughing at a stadium name change if that is all they have to laugh about! People might say that MAis pocketing the money but lets just wait until the accounts are out then we will know for sure, if true then I will be on his back What DL said, cant argue with it, not the way to behave as a MD but when have the ****ty mirror ever had a good thing to say? Im sure he may have said some positive things about AP, Carr etc but media always latch on to the worst. I'm actually not too bothered really, as long as the team do the business on the pitch then I'm happier.
pretty sure the owner cant put the money into the club from a stadium name change for his company, its against the FFP rules. you will only get money if someone else wants to take it over next year, but you get nothing at all with Sports Direct plastered all over it (and named now).
What a pity, a few post in and its the muckems v the mags, spirit of post missed completly mate, never mind if it makes you happy.
NEWCASTLE UNITEDâs Sports Direct Arena could be shortlived with owner Mike Ashley closing in on a naming rights deal with an American company. Ashley provoked a storm of fansâ protest by renaming St Jamesâ Park after his own sportswear emporium. Now he is searching for a £10 million-a-season sponsorship deal including stadium naming rights and shirt advertising. Sunday Express Sport can reveal that Ashley is in talks with interested parties, most in the USA, including Nike. He believes that selling stadium naming rights is vital if Newcastle are going to have any chance of competing with the Premier League big boys. And he has told friends he is not bothered if the fans continue to call the stadium St Jamesâ Park. He doesnât expect the Sports Direct Arena â or whatever name replaces it â to be part of their every day football talk. Mike Ashley is only a majority shareholder and isn't even the top man anymore at Sport Direct and if the board of directors vote yes to spend some of their advertising budget on naming rights for our stadium then it will be all above board.
In all honesty i dont really care, it can be called the Sports Direct Arena for the next 100 years for me, but Someone on the news when it was announced, cant remember who, said they couldnt. Ashley is still Deputy executive chairman and founder His fortune is from that company The Chairman is Sir Kieth Hellawell Ex police for Cleveland, Drug tza to the government, but i bet he doesnt have a 1 billion fortune and takes all the profits home with him. if he does/can then fair enough, but i doubt it.
Well Mike and Derek do like a good wager... ****s. I wonder how our club with Sunderland's board would do.
I would have said well but you are with your crap board and we are not with our good board so who knows
It would be some team I can assure you, quality, stability and cash, can't ask for any more. To Syd, I think Bruce and Fat Mike must have met at some pie eating contest or some such, and agreed to try and make the two teams as crap as they possibly can.
