Player of the Season: Joelinton From national joke to seriously one of the better mids in the league. Most Improved Player of the Season: Longstaff Went from a player I think everyone would have happily sold to fan favourite. Most Disappointing Player: Max I think everyone had hopes he would gel under Howe and become a top, world class player. But, he's far too often injured, when he does play he more often than not is flat and when he plays very well (for his standards) went tend to see a lot of what over more reliable players can produce. Signing of the Season: Isak I was leaning on choosing Botman, but I think Isak is that monumental signing that not only improved the side but shown the league we meant business. We went out and grabbed one Europes young stars and he didn't disappoint. In fact, he was better than a lot of people expected. Goal of the Season: Almiron vs Fulham Assist of the season: Isak to Murphy. Willock to Isak was a special pass, but Isak still had work to do to finish off the goal. Isak could have passed to my Nan and she would have scored a goal, it was one of the most exceptional assists you'll see. Game of the Season: Vs Tottenham 6-1. Nuff said. Moment of the Season: Probably getting to the League Cup final, felt monumental. Manager rating out of 10: 9/10 At about the mid point of the season, I felt Newcastle missed out on wins because we were far too slow to make the necessary changes, everyone on here was getting tired of the 70 minute substitutions, only making subs and the same subs everytime at 70 mins. Howe learnt from it and started making changes earlier, sometimes at 45 mins. But for that short spell he seemed like we had only Plan A and after that, panic. Season rating out of 10: 10/10 Exceeded expectations completely.

Player of the Season: Many to choose from but I'll go for Pope. Most Improved Player of the Season: So many to pick from. I think many of the players had shown glimpses of quality in the past (especially the like of Willock) so I'm going for Murphy. Prior to this season I never wanted to see him in a Newcastle shirt ever again Most Disappointing Player: I was expecting a lot more from Targett as I thought he looked good at the back end of last season but there's a couple of reasons why Burn has been playing LB for us all season. Signing of the Season: Honestly think we're yet to make a massive blunder yet in the market with the new owners (holding out on Gordon). There's three obvious choices but I've got to go for Pope as I think he's the single most important difference to our team. Tough one though as Botman and Isak have also been instrumental. Goal of the Season: I've got to go for Almiron vs Fulham. The goal itself was sublime but also started a run of games where he and we were excellent and propelled us from midtable to European contention. For those who cannot recall I'd urge you to re-watch it: https://www.skysports.com/watch/vid...guel-almirons-stunning-volley-from-all-angles Assist of the season: Has to be Isak vs Everton of course. Game of the Season: 6-1 Tottenham. Though in fairness only really the first 21 minutes, both teams stopped playing at that point. It came at a busy part of the season and we seemed to conserve energy after the match was won. Moment of the Season: Wilson scoring the penalty against Leeds. They'd just missed the chance to go 2-0 up and I feel like if we'd lost then the pressure would have really cranked up on us. That they missed and we immediately equalised was massive. Manager rating out of 10: 10. Yes there have been some areas for improvement and people will use that to argue he cannot have a 10 but in all honesty I'd have given him an 8 for top 8 and a 9 for top 6. We got top 4 (we were 3rd for a length on time on the last day) and a cup final. That is outstanding work, utterly remarkable. Season rating out of 10: 10. See above. We over-achieved massively, top 4 AND a cup final. All we wanted was a team that tried remember. ps. Just read back through the thread to see that quite a few went for that Almiron goal, I wrongly assumed people would have gone for something more recent. Good choice peeps!
