15.30 Fingal Bay 16.00 Montbazon (fantastic bumper form) 15.15 le beau bai e/w (fontwell) Al ferof has to be a massive lay, Nicholls says he is slow to come to hand and hes fallen over hurdles and in a point to point. I would think he has a pretty good chance of tipping up or belting a fair few on the way round.
I really like Sanctuaire today and I am backing him EW in the Greatwood. I think proper horses win this race and he is one of a few who could end up sitting at Barney Chuckles' 'Top Table'
If Islander shows up, I hope he has a word or two on the Stakes race at Woodbine today. I like my old mate Contreras who is on an 8-1 shot drawn the pole. Showing heaps of pace, but the trip worries a bit.
Agreed - he is 1lb below Menorah's rating last year so by no means an impossible task for a quality horse
Ok gentlemen. Time to shoot down my latest stupid idea. I noticed that in the 3 mile, 15:35 at Limerick, the going is not too good. It might make for a bit of a slog. The bottom two are in with nothing on their backs. Knockmoy Jewel has chalked up nearly 17 miles in the last 4 months, while Kinbane River has about 14 miles on the clock in the same period. They will be as fit as all ****. Each way maybe?
Hello lads. Some great action today. No hiding behind the sofa bets for me today bit I've had a few bob e.w on Flemenstar at 7/1 in the 3.25 at Navan. He is a lightly raced winning pointer who also won a fair maiden hurdle easily last season before finishing a decent fourth in a G2 hurdle behind yesterdays impressive winner Lambro. He is not from a fashionable stable and may well be overpriced. The obvious negatives are his inexperience, lack of fitness, needed the run FTO last year, and the trip.I'm sure he would prefer farther. Nevertheless,a sporting bet and if he completes should be an e.w. bet to nothing with the win part very much possible.Interesting to see how the market speaks for him. GL all having a pop...Cocktail time!!
They have been around the block a bit Cyc but it is a poor race and they have to have some sort of chance. Ponmeoath, minus the claim, races off 127 and has won off 130 as recently as March. However,he is small and is much better carrying lesser weights in better company but this won't take much winning I'm almost talking myself into backing him!!...10/1 with Laddies.
I am with Quel in the opening two at Navan for sure. I will give my reasons also BEEF TO HILLS 12.35 Navan 4/1. I backed this one first time out for Gordon Elliott and if you watched the race you would not think it was possible for him to end up finishing 7th. He travelled very well throughout the race that day and jumped well also. I certainly got the impression that he just needed the run and that he would win next time out. Today he faces Boston Bob who has his first start for the Willie Mullins yard having previously been trained by Howard Johnson. The form of his bumper 3rd at Punchestown before joining Howard Johnson is solid but not special and he beat nothing at all at Hexham. Certainly not a 4/11 shot on what he has achieved so far so I will take a chance on Beef To Hills. MIKAEL D'HAGUENET 1.05 Navan 2/1. I have missed the 4/1 that was available with Betfred earlier on which would have been a cracking bet (well done Quel for getting the price). He still rates as a solid bet imo at around the 2/1 mark. I think we can ignore his chasing campaign all together as he couldn't jump a fence. He did still show he has plenty of ability by finishing close a few times and also falling when going well on a couple of occasions. Willing to forgive his only start over hurdles last season as he had a hard time prior to that. Goes well fresh and at Navan and I expect a good show today
I've backed the mare against Mikael RV, don't think he's come back the same horse after his injury. Did you see the replay of the last race at Cheltenham yesterday - what an absolutely belting race, I did my dough on Viking Blond but was still shouting my head off coming to the last. Absolutely awesome race which I think will throw up plenty of future winners.
I did Odddy fancied the winner myself - had backed it on debut when it fell. I let Restless Harry put me off though. Viking ran a blinder mate
Yupp. Some decent horses in there for sure. Looking forward to Al Ferof in the 1.10 even though I wouldn't back him at evens. Gutted Nicholls has taken out Toubab though he was a cert for a place and was around 8/1. I do think Bellvano is a speedy type wouldn't be surprised if Al Ferof gets beat today before going on to be the best horse from the race
RV,I thought Bellvano was sticky enough with his fencing at Southwell but agree he looks the n.b. after Al Ferof.Definately in no hurry to take the odds on about him.
Taking a chance on BELLVANO in the 1.10 at Cheltenham. Al Ferof is the best horse on hurdles form and will probably go on to make the best chaser as well but he wasn't the perfect jumper over hurdles and was also a faller in a p2p. Bellvano is a speedy type and jumped nicely at Punchestown when winning at the 2nd time of asking over the larger obstacles. I do wonder if Al Ferof is more of a stayer therefore I wouldn't want to back him at Evens today.
