Things are a bit slow around here this morning so I thought I'd give my two cents as to the Stadium naming situation.

Personally (maybe controversially?) I couldn't care less about the stadium name if the club is bringing in £10m per year through naming rights. It makes total sense and the club will definitely, definitely be better off because of it.

What I do have a problem with is Ashley's constant, relentless FREE advertising in the Stadium, then crying ****ing poverty every time there's a transfer window with the old "We've put £XXXm into the club and we need a return on it" bullshit.

In my opinion, he is taking us all for fools.

SportsDirect posted record profits as shown in their last accounts, up a massive 32.7% infact and surely a lot of this has to be put down with his relationship the club generating massive attention and interest in his company through our club, and therefore Ashley and SportsDirect, never being out of the media spotlight, and ofcourse from the Sky games where you can clearly see SportsDirect plastered on every single possible place it could be, seen from every camera angle.

The massive growth in his company seems to have gone hand in hand with his ownership of NUFC. What has their CEO put it down to? - "the success of our employee bonus scheme, which we introduced to focus the whole group on our ambitious growth targets" <laugh>. Sure.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who is very, very interested to know how much of this advertising is actually paid for and how many tens of millions he has written off the amount we owe him. I already know the answer ofcourse, but I'd really love the question to be put to Ashley and that **** Llambias.

Anyway, rant over, thoughts please. :)

  4. Nah, I'd rather keep it as St James' Park thanks, but no point in even arguing about it now. It's going to be changed and that's that.

It'll hit you once you read Coloccini told the Chronicle yesterday - "we need to make the Burger King Arena a fortress".

It will help the club progress though, surely that is more important?
