I’m pleased at least that the clapping was louder than the boos at the end when he stood on his own to clap the fans goodbye. But the boos could still be heard. Can understand it to an extent when it’s boos against his inclusion in the team because he just has no attacking threat and when he was brought on when we needed a goal. In my mind that’s more boos with the management/team selection. But to actively boo him when he so clearly was one of the few players who did care and always gave his all is horrible from those Saints fans. Boo Salisu who sacked the season off. Boo the players that were just coasting and collecting their pay checks. Ely didn’t deserve to be singled out.

Guess who has to do the first Matchday thread next season? I bet you didn't think it would be you?

Had it not been the fact that I wanted to avoid us signing off the season with yet another defeat, I would have happily had Lyanco two-foot Henderson.

How he can try and push Ely off the field, when Ely was only doing exactly what Firmino was doing five minutes earlier: saying goodbye to his teammates. I've never liked Henderson, but it turns out I can dislike even more than I thought.

At the Maccies on the way home.

What can I say? I went today to support the club (not the team) sing songs of players of old in a typically British passive aggressive **** you to the current ones. But......

That was really ****ing fun. Yeah there was some awful defending but there was a 10 minute spell where they played really well and it was exciting again. It's easy to moan that the ****s didn't do this all season but that's kind of moot at this point.

Lyanco played one of the best games I've even seen him play, rash and didn't read the game well but **** me he tries. Stuck his body properly on the line and played like his life depended on it, the mad ****. Alex made several decent saves and we got to say goodbye to JWP.

At this point I genuinely would rather keep Alcaraz than Lavia. Don't get me wrong Lavia is immense but keep Alcaraz and he'll get us out of this league.

When does the new season kick off? <laugh>

I realise the irony of my statement on the board of the team that finished bottom <laugh>

How about awful by usual standards of the last couple years? Better?

Just shows more about those who boo than the one being booed. Very poor and pathetic.

    It was both.
"sportsmanship" noun = "the quality of showing fairness, respect, and generosity toward the opposing team or player and for the sport itself when competing"
It is a trait that has been missing from a minority of "entitled/opinionated" so called supporters, it must have been missed out during their education.

Goodbye Premier League, goodbye and thanks to the lads that have given years to the club. I’ve forgotten this season already but I’ll remember the ones before it.

Can we have a word for that mad drop of the shoulder/turn that Amo-Ameyaw did that took him past two Liverpool players with twisted blood, just before we sign off?

It would have been too perfect if KWP had scored that to win it. But yeah, beautiful little bit of skill and acceleration from the youngster. Great to see Tino back too and he had a few little moments that reminded me how good he is at dribbling the ball surrounded by opposition players. Very much like KWP in that actually,

The problem with the faint applause is that if a decent player was ever in two minds about staying due to loving the club and fans, its probably made it easier for him to say oh **** off I'm out of here.

I really hope Sulamana stays but he was probably playing for his next lucrative pay check and he was excellent so he''ll be off. Why didnt we play him more often? Or did he just wake up for certain games

Really pleased Leicester went down for so many reasons. Sadly they'll now be a prime team to bounce straight back. Isn't it strange that 12 points out of our 25 acheived this season were from beating both Leicester and Chelsea home and away. Bloody madness

I have just noticed on the replay that JWP didn't hand over his Captains armband when he was subbed off, he still had it on at the final whistle!
