The old saying is better to be inside the tent pissing out than outside the tent pissing in.

But we didn't want to be inside the tent. We had our own tent where we didn't have to smell everyone else's piss.

the current lot are just reinforcing the publics opinion of them, that they all lie to get elected.

i have to be honest and admit i have never honestly taken a great deal of interest in politics, around here 'we were always labour' policies never really came into it until promises did not materialise...the first time i took any kind of notice was the late 70's into 'that womans' time and that finished me after watching the workforce being decimated, industries that employed the local township just swept away with no real plans.

brexit (my own opinion here) could/should have been a good thing IF it had been handled properly, future plans should have been laid out well in advance and at least some idea of the trade relations we could agree with the EU...instead, at the very last minute our bumbling 'leaders' went racing over there cap in hand trying to beg a deal or two and usually aiming far too high, they have played musical chairs amongst themselves and no one has been found that might even lead the party and the country out of this.

labour basically went t1ts up when 'tory blair' came out, now i look at them and wonder how they even manage as the opposition never mind an elected party...two horse race with massive benefits for both horses kills any chance of decent leadership.

You think you’re smart on here calling the shots, but in fact you’re not very clever and you’ve been found out and your defence is embarrassing. Even that places a whole religion in the same box - mate there are Christian extremists in Nigeria, Sudan and the like that do the same shot so are all Christian’s bad ? Happy Christmas by the way. There are atheists that are beating their wives up after a few tinnies, In the west we pay women less wages then men and make parents get kids up, hoy them in work and their parents work for the task/taxmaster while losing connection with children. All societies have faults and benefits but judging them on your own perspective is not showing ‘tolerance of different faiths and beliefs’. You judging like that is based on your own discrimination. Everyone on here knows and in truth you know you’ve been found out so be a man and own your hypocrisy. Squirming like an adder. Not going to waste any more breath or time on someone like you because you haven’t the capacity to reflect you just want to dominate people. Don’t post back till 8 45 please.

    Good morning, it's 6am.

Women as a lower form of life isn't baked into Christianity or Atheism. I judge everyone based on my own experience of them wherever I have personal experience. Just like I'm judging you right now as a misogynist based upon your defence of a religion that treats its women badly as a matter of course just to try to score a point.
No squirming. My position remains the same. I don't need to post an essay. Unlike people going in to bat against some of the most institutionally oppressed people on the planet.

    Anyway, back to politics.

The government's intention to introduce voluntary caps on food prices for supermarkets is interesting. Are they trying to create a price war or a morality war or both? You can see Aldi and Lidl being over the moon with the free PR this is going to hand them. Waitrose? Not so much.

I want to know who stands the cost? Do they expect farmers to sell their produce below cost. I believe it’s another stupid Tory idea.

I think milk, for example when you mention farmers, is still sold below the price it really should be. It would be daft to cap it. Some other stuff, maybe not so much. There's more than a whiff of profiteering by some places on some products imho. All driven by the need to have a more profitable quarter than the last and a long period of time where supermarkets were making bumper profits due to being the only places allowed to be open.

So it was introduced, worked, and then was no longer needed because of the slowdown. What caused the slowdown?

We have a Labour party who dont back the public order act, but dont commit to repealing it. Makes sense now we know they are funded by Mr Just Stop Oil, to the tune one £1.5m. About time we cleaned up politics but Starmer would lose out so there is no hope on the horizon.
