EXCLUSIVE: Toon chief blasts heroes Shearer and Keegan in foul-mouthed rant Published 23:01 12/11/11 By Brian McNally (7)Recommend (5) . Newcastle managing director Derek Llambias stunned Toon Army fans by unleashing an astonising, foul-mouthed rant in public on Geordie icons Alan Shearer and Kevin Keegan. The former casino boss â who *virtually never gives media interviews *â delivered a withering condemnation on the managerial abilities of the Magpies legends in front of startled onlookers in a Newcastle gastro bar. Llambias, who along with Toon owner Mike Ashley has enraged Toon fans by re-branding historic St. Jamesâ Park as the Sports Direct Arena, blamed Shearer for Newcastleâs 2009 relegation and claimed there âwill never be a right timeâ for the former England skipper in management. And in a blistering broadside aimed at Keegan, the Magpies MD claimed the former England boss is *unable to cope with the *stresses and strains of *management. Llambias railed: âKevin Keegan canât take pressure. His f****** head is all over the place.â He also made a shocking claim in a meeting with fans last month that Keeganâs second coming as Newcastle manager in 2008 came about *because he was the preferred choice of potential Arab buyers. He revealed: âMike (Ashley) was selling to the Arabs and they *wanted Kevin Keegan. âThe Arabs wanted him, the fans wanted him â perfect!â A candid Llambias admitted he was at fault for recruiting Shearer as manager in April 2009 when Newcastle were battling to avoid the drop. Llambias said: âShearer was my choice and I have to hold up my hands â the wrong choice.â Referring to the relegation battle and the managerial team of Shearer and Iain Dowie, he claimed: âShearer, for this, destroys us. He gave all the responsibility to Dowie. Rubbish!â A supporter suggests âIt wasnât the right timeâ for Shearer. Llambias responded *brusquely, and said: âIt would never be the right time. Shearer? There would never be a right time in football.â When one of the onlookers suggested Shearer is arrogant, *Llambias agreed and said: âYou guys have given him that arrogance.â What will perplex *Newcastle fans about Llambiasâ put-down of the Geordie hero is the fact that days after *relegation, Ashley *issued a statement in which he said: âBringing Alan Shearer back to Newcastle United was the best *decision I have made.â Chris Hughton *succeeded Shearer as manager and led Toon back into the top flight at the first attempt as *champions (below, left). Hughton was sacked by *Newcastle a year ago, and is now manager of *Birmingham. He was also in the *Llambias line of fire when one of the group asked why he was dismissed. Llambias responded: âHe would never have taken us where we want to be. âThatâs my decision by the way. âChris canât make decisions. If I am asking about a player, Ben Arfa? he says âIâm not sure, blah blahâ. âWith Chris, he couldnât cope with where we are *mentally. We are *aggressive. âYou need to be aggressive. I donât want a manager below me who canât argue.â But of all the colourful claims made by *Llambias perhaps the one that will not be disputed by Toon fans is: âYou guys donât *understand how f****** *horrible we can be.â After last weekâs act of soccer sacrilege at St. Jamesâ Park, many Geordies believe they *understand only too well. Newcastle declined to comment last night.
Shocking.. Seems Ashley and his side-kick are hellbent on becoming the most despised people ever to step foot in NE1.
they do seem very good at getting things right then ****ing it up. ight now everyone at newcastle should be happy and smiling but the terrible two dont do happy
Jesus!!! I thought this was a joke till I saw The Mirror. “You guys don’t *understand how f****** *horrible we can be.” What a tosser. This bloke should be tied up in a sack and thrown in the Tyne.

I hate Ashley and Dekka as much as the next guy but who were the sources on this? How many came forward? When was the incident? Did they record it because it's quite amazing how much exact dialogue they remembered considering they were probably wasted. I'd probably agree with a few of the points he made anyway to be honest - Shearer was never the right man for the job, the thing on Hughton while he deserves massive respect for what he did could be a valid if ineloquent one and he is right in that he and Ashley are horrible ****s. The thing I disagree with majorly is the Keegan bit, Keegan was doing a great job, he'd kept us up comfortably after an initial bad start going on an unbeaten run into 12th after things were looking terrible under Fat Sam. He had no pressure on him at all when he left. Dekka hates him because he didn't take their **** and walked, subsequently saying that Ashley and Dekka would **** us over. I'm sure it was Setanta he was on after we'd sold Carroll and he said the transfer market wouldn't see a penny of the money no matter what they said. Lo and behold. Must admit I laughed at what he'd supposedly said about Carroll though in another article - when someone came up to him and asked if he thought Carroll was worth the 35 million he said "nah he's worth **** all" and that we absolutely mugged Liverpool off getting them to pay it all upfront Just seems like a very opportune time for all these stories to surface really.
The type you'd like your daughter to bring home & say, daddy I'd like you to meet............. ****ing nightmare!
I my opinion Ashley is still getting his own back for the threats to his family etc. He'll be off as soon as he recoups his money. I would lay a bet he will leave them somehow the way he found them, finanicially unstable, by way of revenge.
Nah, the fat **** is milking them for all he's worth, they just announced a couple of weeks ago that any season ticket holder can buy a second season ticket at half price, he's trying to rake more money in before they hit a bad spell. The fat one knows what he's doing.
He's right about Keegan though, he never liked it when things don't go his way, when the going gets tough, he ****s off
