He was directly asked about marquee signings in his press conference. His answer was certainly more ambiguous than the headlines will suggest, but he did give the answer: "There would be players we’d love to bring in that would be classified in that bracket I’m sure." "For me, it’s more about the role they can fulfil in the team, whether that’s viewed positively or as a marquee signing then great." "I’m not in my mind thinking, ‘We have to have one of those players that ticks that box for the supporters’. As much as I’d love to do that, it’s about finding the right player in the right position who I think makes us better."
So basically journos putting words in his mouth so he can give them a headline they already want to write. What's he supposed to say "no, we don't want big signings"? This is why I don't read their ****e.
Anyway, as I said the other day, I might just stay off rhis thread until the transfer window closes. I don't want to put a downer on anyone enjoying those kind of headlines and articles. For me it's just cheap tricks to sell stories, but I appreciate for others it's a positive sign. So I'll just not comment.
Fish fingers and beans maybe, sausage roll with beans sounds rank, sausage rolls you just eat on it's own.
Typical, I say I'll stop posting on the Summer Transfer thread and it becomes a discussion about food.
......and of course no sooner have I taken the piss out of Turkey dinosaurs and get served up chicken Kiev's with alphabet potatoes....... as we've ran out out of chips due to me hoying an empty bag back in the freezer
