We're getting the worst manager in the history of football ever. I mean has he even been to a game of football? It's dreadful I can only hope WW3 breaks out before next season so we can all be saved from the horror.
The Premier League have docked points from everyone except Saints, so we're playing in the Premier League next season, but only if Selles remains as coach/manager, and we play Elyounussi and Adarma in every match.
In the first (radio) episode of The Hitchikers' Guide To The Galaxy, Arthur Dent and Ford Prefect go into a pub to drink lots of beer and eat peanuts, just before Earth is destroyed. The barman says "What do you think of United's chances"? and Ford says -'"It won't matter, the world's about to end" The barman says "Lucky escape for United, then", and Ford replies "Not really, no". In short, be careful what you wish for. I've got a foot-high piano player...
Seems like a decent, humble and intelligent bloke... Martin established a charitable foundation in his hometown of Brighton, initially set up as a football academy, named the Russell Martin Foundation. The charity aims to use "the power of football to help change people’s lives" by providing access to football, education, and health courses in the local Community
To be honest, it was from memory, and I was torn between Arsenal & United, so maybe I should check my sources more carefully!
We've sold SMS to the City Council and leased back off them on a 99 year lease. Helps to pay for management compensation and various errors of selection etc. Nothing to worry about.
The squad is going to have a huge overhaul and getting a side to suit his style shouldn’t be a problem, as long as he has a decent input in the transfers
If we bring in some of his favourites from Swansea it will be a good start. There may be others on his list but tbh he will have a much bigger budget to work with so players he may have wanted for Swansea might not be at the level we need if we intend to get back up. my hope is that we will be a bigger fish in the champ instead of a minnow in the EPL and have shot at some of the choice players.
Let's be honest, he is going to have plenty of funds to build the team however he likes. Every single sell is going to result in a replacement that he ideally will want. He is going to be able to build the midfield how he wants to with the funds made from Lavia and JWP sales. I'll be looking forward to how he crafts his squad.
I thought it was Arsenal ? ********************* Sorry . just seen SAINTOSPREYS post . Mods , feel free to delete mine . *****************************
Assuming that it will indeed be Martin, hopefully we're only about seven or eight hours away from his appointment. Whichever two sides will be joining us in the Championship later today, it's fairly likely that they'll both be looking for new managers of their own. And that might take a few weeks. Whereas Martin, hopefully, can get straight down to business.
That's a very good point, the remaining three cannot really even look for a manager because they have no idea what league they'll be playing in - I would assume they all think they'll survive. It will be very interesting to see what each of those remaining clubs do - what in particular the relegated teams do. Depending on who these teams choose will see how mental the posting gets on here as I'm sure some will believe they have done so much better than us. (I do remember years ago someone going on and on about how Norwich City's player recruitment was miles better than ours and they were really ready to kick on in the Premier League whereas Saints would struggle and probably get relegated - Norwich went down that season.)
If the club are professional enough he is already signed up and the only reason it hasn't been officially announced is courtesy to Selles prior to his last game. I would hope he is announced this evening after the final whistle.
