I have never really understood why immigration is so bad. I understand things like a lack of housing and services. But cant we turn it on its head and look at the opportunities it brings. I am referring to legal immigration now, not the illegal ones. I am assuming it is legal immigration todays numbers refer to? Seems to me like we have an opportunity to be a better country if we were more open, not more closed, in terms of our front door.

 

I totally agree, and yes it's legal immigration.

We need to exist on an international basis, we can't go back to Colonial times. People seem to miss the point that huge amounts of Brits emigrate or work abroad. I sometimes think people seriously want to pull up the drawbridge, go back to pounds, shillings & pence, and exist in total isolation .

 

It seems to be almost as big a political issue as the NHS, or Education, for all parties.

 

It's something that should be tackled quietly and with the maximum cooperation from the French. It would be cheaper to pay the French to keep the illegals than to take them ...

... but we've turned our backs on France now so they'll just keep smiling and nodding whilst allowing the boats to leave.

We've created a situation that no amount of Royal Navy, Rwanda and endless slogans can handle.

 

They have had to include immigrants waiting to have their asylum yea or nay now because it is taking over a year to assess their claims. You honestly couldn't make this lot of Tories up they are beyond useless.

 

Thankfully they seem pretty good at showing themselves up without any help from others.

 

Horrible individuals. And Roger the cabin boy and a few others. Hateful of vulnerable people. Especially the ones with protected characteristics.

I find the best response to trolls (especially snidey patronising ones or the 'flouncey' I'm off, no I'm back, ones) is to ignore them, but b*gger me, this thread has a high troll content doesnt it.

This post is very odd, and dare I say it dangerous. All sorts of implications in there. Can i ask how you feel able to make such a legally dangerous statement? No offence intended, but this is very dangerous territory.
