"Newcastle will buy plenty titles and people just have to get used to it. I have no doubt they will buy a PL and CL. Bravo - well done in advance. Nobody will care. Football is delusional now, and the funny thing is that people are no longer so interested in records. We all subconsciously know what a genuine achievement and passion looks and feels like. Newcastle, Man City and Chelsea will never be taken seriously. You can’t buy respect." https://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/index.php?topic=282654.21040
"They had this arrogance when Ashley was there too, most of our fans didn't see it because Rafa was their manager. Ideas way above their station and delusions of grandeur, have they even been in the Champions League since it was introduced? Like Chelsea and Abu Dhabi, they are a midtable club which has hit the lottery."
I love it when the other bigger clubs talk about money like it's new. They forget they just did it sooner. Liverpool in the 70's paid (then) British records for the likes of Dalglish and a club record for Souness. Add to that Hansen, Terry Mac and all the others they had back then when they went on to dominate for a spell. They make it sound like they brought these guys through their ranks and did it the hard way, but they spent big - for those times - in a way that most other clubs couldn't compete for a while. So yeah, money does buy success. Especially now, but it's always been a factor. So just try not to be quite so bitter when someone else wins the lotto jackpot and joins the big boys, while you look at your imaginary ceiling.
"Their entire PL reputation is based on a few good seasons under Robson and Keegan and having a big stadium. They were always a mid-table/yo-yo side for most of their history. Their average position during the PL era has been 11th. If you were to go further back, their average position between 1962/63 and now has been about 15th. Approximately 23% of their past sixty seasons have been spent in old Division 2/the Championship. In the past sixty years, they've won one trophy (Inter-Fairs Cup) and been runners-up in five domestic cup competitions. In the past sixty years, Birmingham City, Wolves and Ipswich Town have won more major trophies (UEFA Cups and League Cups) than them." "This idea has to be based on fact they're one of the few teams in the UK with a 50,000 + seater satdium and they've had more top five finishes in the PL era than the likes of Everton and Aston Villa. A lot of those finishes also occurred during the start of the PL. Now for some in the media that might make them massive and a sleeping giant compared to the other two, which is ironic since both of those clubs have actually won something during the past thirty years and have been relegated fewer times than Newcastle during the same time period." "Twitter full of Saudi FC fans saying they are back where they belong. A club that haven't won anything on coloured TV with that ****ing bravado. please log in to view this image Really need Cheat FC to get found guilty, PIF will hopefully see no reason to prop up a Football club if they cannot fast track their way to the top without breaking rules like Qatar and Abu Dhabi have always done."
A very well thought out and passionate post with sensible and well made points. Now can you please give Obi his password back? Thanks.
The entitled twats are ****ting themselves. Glorious. I have a warm fuzzy feeling from hearing their sobs.
The entire bought success argument I find entertaining. Yeah their clubs have been buying success and now Newcastle are going to show them how it's done properly.
Just imagine if Liverpool don't get CL and Everton were to get relegated. There could be severe flooding this weekend of catastophic proportions all along the Mersey. Maybe spreading further. I advise flippers and snorkels at the ready.
