Good call by VAR but the lino should spot that.

Well done Brighton. Fully deserved, great season. They are set up to do very well in Europe imo, hopefully they can maintain the league form as well as playing in Europe tends to have a big impact on league form

They have a great setup, scouting, manager, style of play - hopefully we can follow their model.
Is it true that we were looking to get Enciso on loan?
    Nice goal...

That’s one of the best goals I’ve seen this season. Absolute beauty, right in the corner with a bit of swerving going on.

Is that the push/pull? Disagree. I see the defender pull him first, then he pulled the defender. Si if VAR gives a foul, how come it ignores the first one?

    if not then apologies

Halaand pull on the defender. It didn't show a pull by the defender on him on the replay so can't comment if it was or not.

Either way, lino should be calling it.

Big Sam Resigns With 1 Game Left: “Relegation is now’t to do with Me”

Sam Allardyce has sensationally resigned before Leeds United play their final Premier League fixture against 'Spurs on Sunday. The Yorkshire club sit in 19th place and are odds-on for a return to The Championship next season.

    Now’t
please log in to view this image

“Now’t to do with me,” said Allardyce, when asked if his departure is likely to confirm Leeds’ relegation. “People keep saying that I managed Leeds, but where’s the proof ? You can fake anything these days with ChatVIP and all of these Artificial Foreigner gizmos.”

“Now’t,” insisted the 68 year-old. “Maybe if my name was Don Largio Samuel Allardicio or what have you, I’d be celebrating winning the Premier League right now with a creamy pint of Sauvignon Blanc instead of listening to this rubbish.”

“My heart goes out to Leeds,” he said, uncorking a bottle of Blue Nun with his teeth and reaching for an official Leeds United merchandised pint glass. “but it’s now’t to do with me.”

“Now’t,” he added before flooring the pint in a single prolonged gulp and letting a thunderous belch that gradually ceded the acoustic space to a disturbingly soggy-sounding fart.

This is a load of bollocks, but it's funny :emoticon-0105-wink:

I feel sorry for the fans of all four teams in the relegation zone, they all have their merits, but... from a safc perspective, the current bottom 3 could all possibly break up in the Championship.

I think there is a common misconception that all relegated teams have an advantage over the rest of the championship, but this season (and others ) have shown this to be not quite accurate. A lot of the teams will have huge wage bills to reduce (Leicester) or squads that will be cherry picked by PL clubs. This season Watford and Norwich had internal turmoil that led to average seasons - even when you keep hold of your better players, it's often apparent that they don't want to be there and do not play to their full potential.

Sunderland in 2018 was the epitome of all of those problems and we know how that ended up. You look at Norwich, WBA, Watford, Cardiff, Huddersfield, Us & Wigan as teams all relegated from the PL in the last 5 or 6 seasons and none really have a great story to tell.

If Everton go down (which I think is unlikely) there will be a financial meltdown that could even threaten their existence - all that money spent (with more to come) on the new stadium, the alleged FFP breeches and apparently a lot of their top earners do not have relegation clauses.

Even teams still in the Championship like WBA have financial problems having gambled their parachute payments on immediate promotion/

The way the Championship is perfect for a club like ours to follow the model Brentford and Brighton used - recruit young, talented players with a smattering of PL loans. What we achieved this season with half a team missing was unbelievable - even IF the division is stronger next year, there is nothing to say we won't be challenging the top 6, if not the top 2

Man Utd v Chelsea tonight. Funny with how many millions Chelsea spent and their team, to be fair, looks pretty ****.

I have always thought Lampard was a rubbish coach. I thought I might have a blind spot. Then I see him leaving Felix on the bench and think I was right all along.

It can definitely go either way for clubs that are relegated from the Premier League. Everton are one of those which could go either way. All the points you mention are valid, but on the flip side, they appear to have new investment lined up, FFP breaches usually take about 18-24 months to prove and I'm not sure there would even be a punishment applied in the football league for Premier League breaches. Then they have many saleable assets - Pickford, Onana and and Calvert-Lewin would bring up to £100m before you look at Doucore, Mina, Tarkowski, Gray, Gueye, McNeil and Iwobi just off the top of my head who would get Prem (or equivalent moves). Even after that kind of fire sale, they have players like Holgate, Patterson, Simms, Cannon, Keane, Godfrey and Maupay who would be among the best in this division.

Southampton are perhaps the most likely to get promoted because they're likely to keep a balanced squad. Ward-Prowse will go an probably a few more like Salissu, Walker-Peters and maybe 1 or 2 of their younger players, but they'll have a lot of young talent in their squad (Bazunu, Lavia Alcaraz, Mara, Kamaldeen) and will probably end up keeping the likes of Walcott, Che Adams, Aribo, Elyounousi, Bednarek.

Leicester/Leeds are the ones most likely to struggle in my opinion (Leicester especially). I think they both have a lot of players who will see themselves as Premier League players at least, and I don't think they've got as much depth to form the core of a team without a complete rebuild.

Anyone else just not rate Connor Gallagher?

I just don’t think he’s very good, and haven’t ever seen him do anything of much merit.

probably go and bag a hat trick now I’ve said that.

He looked good at Palace. No-one looks good at Chelsea (even £100m footballers) so it's hard to single him out.

The standard of football in this game is absolutely dreadful so far. To think that 15 years ago, these 2 were playing in one of the highest quality Champions League finals ever. Now half of their teams can't control a ball.
