What gets me chazz .the man is a total narcissistic ****,who is totally talentless and people love the fat oaf
Come on, that is a ridiculous statement to make. #giveyourheadawobblefella I also wouldn't say he's a 'total' narcissist, but at times he can be a bit too up his own arse (so to speak). Yep, a lot of people do love him, and a lot more like him and will miss him on RH. That's because he's decent at what he does and he's a good advocate for this area.
There’s a huge difference between a sports reporter, which Burnsy is good at, and a radio presenter, which he is not, he has a very bad habit of either chewing or drinking/swallowing when he is talking, and it’s very off putting, blowing back kisses is creepy, and banging on about his missus is tedious, otherwise I don’t mind the bloke and prefer him over Mr Goody two shoes Kofi all day long.
Well, I agree with you 100% on that last bit at least. Absolutely criminal if he keeps his job whilst some of the others are losing theirs.
I've heard Burnsy a bit, seemed ok for local radio, but never the other lad Kofi so I don't know how good/bad he is. However there is an argument that if cuts have to be made, and incompetence isn't a factor, older staff might be released without it causing them too much financial hardship. In other words, give youth a chance. Academia, which is probably not dissimilar to the BBC, seems to be full of old bods drawing good money, not contributing that much and enjoying a relatively easy life while young, highly qualified academics are living on short-term contracts, all over the country whilst trying to buy houses, raise families, etc.
I'd wager a very large percentage of H*mberside's listeners are not in Kofi Smiles' age range, or anywhere near it. Put him in Burnsy's current slot and they'll turn off in their droves. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Might well be the case but, playing devil's advocate, if the cuts achieve their objective who cares if a few old crusties stop listening? As it happens my mum, gone now, used to enjoy Burnsy but I don't think she'd have lost sleep over him going.
When Sir Adam started KCFM at the studios on Hedon Road, they did a promo to get car stickers with the City badge on them, so when passing called in, when I went in the reception DLT and Tony Blackburn were there giving out the stickers, both were very chatty, and I was chuffed to see a pair of Radio 1 legends. A few years later my son started seeing the girl, now his wife, who worked on the reception at the station, she doesn’t say much about her time there other than Tony was an absolute gentleman, and she always stayed away from DLT. Women have a perv radar don’t they.
I get the sentiment .... but you're lucky, you haven't heard him! He doesn't fit and he isn't very good (at local radio stuff). He'd maybe be fine, for some, as a DJ, but that really isn't what local radio is about.
Different times, which is why I didn't mention the 'tit cricket game' a couple of the chaps we know used to play in crowded pubs, oh... The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
