Jesting aside ... this is why some of the fan base have lost it a bit ... we've undoubtedly got talented players in that squad but too many are just 'seeing it through' waiting for big money moves in the summer... hence Smith dropping Maddison and Barnes for the Toon game ... so why he keeps playing Tielemans is baffling ... undoubted quality, but has just been jogging through some games ... would rather have Maddison in the middle and runners around him ... Oh well ... chance for a last hurrah at the weekend ... if we can beat West Ham then a draw would relegate Everton (and Leeds) ... it's possible... but if Everton pummel Bournemouth (which I think is likely) then everything else is academic and Maddison's missed penalty against Everton when we were 2-1 up becomes season defining
I need to stop going to bed so early. I keep missing a lot of the fun. Who knew rape could be so funny
Brighton are at home to Man City tonight, so with Pep sure to make changes, I'm hoping Brighton can grab at least a point to guarantee Europa League next season. Leaving it until their last game could be a bit dodgy because they are at Aston Villa, who are also eyeing that last spot available.
Problem for Brighton is that Citeh's 'B' team is rather good and those players will be hoping to convince Pep that they should be in the CL final starting line-up...
