The parts of that post I could understand I disagree but you’re very welcome to not converse with me if you choose not to.

The government is completely bent. Everyone knows they’re bent. I can hope they get done for it but they probably won’t but they’re as guilty as Peter Sutcliffe.

Angelic not seen any reports of this, as a conservationist in the area of Scotland I visit would be interesting to see / read a report. So far wind farms not reached that far north yet!! But pass many 100's on route especially the new farm between Ullapool and Inverness close to loch GLASCARNOCH.
My first visit of last 4 not seen an eagle, [ last visit saw 2 from about 200m away 2 or 3 times ] when I went up this time. But did only see 21 species when usually at this time of year is about 50 -60 [ didnt go to coast so about 8 sea birds not on list ] did see some avocets 3 times, and heard loads of cuckoo's probably about 7 or 8 but might have been more!

I also read, that the main reason for our energy increases, has f all to do with what’s happening in Ukraine with Russia, which we were lead to believe, but the resources going into renewables etc.. The profits made by these companies are unreal yet we are the ones suffering.. but if they say it’s to make the world a better place and the mass believe it… it’s checkmate..
Total money making, power and controlling scam.. imo..

I think we are just being mugged off by the energy companies and the government/the regulator are allowing it to happen. Raw material prices aren’t everything but I read they’ve dropped to the levels of a few years ago and that’s barely filtering through to us. A bit like petrol it’s quick to go up when the oil price warrants it but very slow to come down.

John - I've just returned from a week in Nairn, and between there and as far east as Fraserburgh and south west to Oban the landscape has many more windmills than last time we stayed there back in 2017.

The Eagle deaths at the hand of wind farms have been largely in America, but I believe plenty of more common birds die here after encountering these monstrosities. especially when the blades are turning at high revolutions.

Indeed ! We've been paying a 5% renewable fee on our energy bills for years that no one was told about, or asked for.
    Another stealth tax amongst many.

In our blinkered, and in these times of need, reckless pursuit of net zero all the government are doing is alienating people
Heat pumps, electric cars ? No thanks
Why not get producing our own from North Sea gas and oil or fracking or anything
The rest of the world points and laughs at us
I’m all for recycling, having clean British rivers and seas and being prudent with our energy use but no one in power has a clue
It’s all knee jerk nonsense carried out by unqualified people

100% spot on. As with the pandemic, the media produce the headlines and the mass get totally sucked in creating hysteria without a moments thought..

the price of oil hit record high's as supplies were chaotic and RUSSIA BENEFITTED WHEN OIL WAS OVER 110 dollars a barrel we had to pay that as it is an open market when it comes to buying .
Oil producers have same costs but market demand regulates price! = more profit for oil producers they sell produced oil at market price

If they produced 1,000,000 barrels a day and at 11am the price was $80 A BARREL and 8 hours later it was $100 a barrel they make an extra $7m ..ish 16 hours later its $110 a barrel another $3-4m at 11am 24 hours later it is $120 another $3 -4m.
SO INSTEAD OF $80,000,000 they make after 24 hours they make $94,000,000 IT STAYS AT $120 FOR A FEW DAYS so no additional production costs but make $120,000,000 per 1,000,000 BARRELS.

Everyone that has bought oil [ bought in advance for delivery x days weeks ahead ] passes on the cost often weeks later when others may have bought at lower prices etc etc

    And you believe that?
So why did the prices of oil go up and why have they now fallen? .....The war still goes on!!
As to energy costs, we get less than 5% of gas from Russia, yet prices went through the roof..........coming down, yet the war still goes on..

I know you follow the news so you should know the sequences of things ..... OIL LIKE OTHER UTILITIES / FUTURES / PRODUCTS are not items you buy off the shelf from the wholesaler ... they are a bit like an auction? ... bit like stocks and shares ...
example would be pointless for you as you would just put it in a spin and not grasp the reality of it, as you intentionally or unintentionally refuse to accept or understand the the reality of what happens or did happen.

You didn't answer the question, why did oil prices go up? What triggered the markets.....The war in Ukraine?? what's changed for the markets to fall?

Explain it then, because the prices don’t come down as quick as they go up. I know the cost is global, so it makes little difference that we don’t get much from Russia, we still have to buy it at the global rate, but why when the cost per barrel has reduced so much why hasn’t that translated to lower costs, I know also there’s a lag, but not this long surely?

He may know how it works but can’t answer the reasons why!!
My view, the big energy companies can take advantage of news such as the conflict in Ukraine.. The oil companies and the corporate energy suppliers and the taxes made by the government has the excuse to pull our pants down for as long as they can, while it dedicates it’s priorities towards being net zero.. high energy prices are here to stay imo..

.. and those are just the ones we know about!!

The whole immigration system is broken and nobody seems to have any appetite to fix it. The current government's 'solution' is simply to bung £billions of our taxpayers money at France to keep them there (as if they bloody would - Macron is laughing at us and I don't blame him TBH!!) and spend a fortune on a controversial 'waiting room' in Rwanda which to-date they haven't been allowed to exploit.
Whether Starmer's lot would do any better remains to be seen. As with all opposition parties they talk a good game but when they become the government themselves nothing much changes - and the Labour party have a reputation for being 'soft' on immigration anyway, so I expect that rhetoric to be rolled out by the Tories ready for the General Election.
We need investment in the PROCESSING system. All that money we give to France should have been spent on increasing the processing capacity so that the ineligible migrants can be deported and the eligible ones embraced into the country, rather than hanging around for years in detention centres and hotels.
But what do I know eh?
