    Same applies to Diana.

It's become a 'fact', in the eyes of her fan club, that she was murdered by the paparazzi which is absolute nonsense.
Speeding through the streets of Paris, in the limo of her wealthy exotic new boyfriend, was just another part of the romance.

There was absolutely no need for a midnight dash across the city ....

... it was their choice as was not wearing seat belts and going so fast.

Sadly innocent staff were dragged into the whole ridiculous jaunt as is often the case . Not that the likes of Dodi and Diana ever give them a second's thought.

    Play with fire, etc.

I always say, the only one who survived the crash was the bodyguard and he was the only one wearing a seatbelt.

I used to watch a program on ITV about the Savoy Hotel in London, quite interesting and funny. One of the most famous hotels in the world, luxurious and a regular haunt of the rich, famous and powerful. Besides the main entrance there's a VIP entrance (I think they called it the Royal Entrance if I remember rightly) not on a main street, but a quieter side street. They didn't show exactly where it was, but it was/is a secure, descreet entrance, with its own luxurious private lift where senior staff and butlers would meet VIPs who wanted privacy when staying there. I'm pretty sure the Paris Ritz will have some kind of similar arrangement. At the very least they could have stayed there overnight to avoid the paparazzi. Or am I too cynical?

When I worked for the Sheikh, Abu Dhabi Royal Family and close to the throne, I'd sometimes have to go to his hotel on Park Lane, London.

Sometimes I'd have a room nearby, to wait for him, at the Intercontinental or Four Seasons or take him round the corner to meet his mates at the Cavalry and Guards Club. I got to know all the chauffeurs, bodyguards and in-house security who were a cracking bunch of lads. There was absolutely no chance any intruders, paparazzi or otherwise, would get near the private areas, pick up points or escape routes. These blokes were highly paid, loyal as f**k and would stomp on anyone even trying to take the piss.

The idea that Dodi and his girlfriend couldn't just vanish away is ridiculous, they wanted maximum attention and got it.

    Cheers mate.

I don't have much time for Harry but he seems to need a decent mate who'll tell him straight. He looks like he has a ring through his nose and allowing the farmers daughter to lead him up the garden path.

He'll no doubt end up flying back and forth to the USA to see his kids ...

... or perhaps she'll just drop them all when she gets bored with them all.

She has form for baling out when it suits her.

Not knocking the lad but 99% of the attraction would've been the glamour of the title and Royal Family. She doesn't need him for the money and he's a bit of a boring lad to be honest. Now she has the kids he's a bit of a 'spare' in yet another way ...

... I think she's a cow but she can certainly attract better looking blokes than Ed Sheeran's roadie.

She definitely thought it was going to be a “ fairytale princess” thing . I think Harry failed to properly explain that it would involve work , duty and acceptance that others would have a greater claim to the limelight.

p.s. … and it’s a belated welcome back from me

    Thanks mate.

I've been waiting the right moment to post about you, this seems right.

I think some people might not always notice your contribution as you're quite understated. But, despite the time difference, you're always there and always enthusiastic. That makes a difference to people imo. I'm pleased we're playing over there and hope you get to see the Lads. If you're ever over here make sure you let me know.

You're an asset to the board and always keep the faith ...

    ... top man.

Wow sir....made me blush and I didn't think that would happen when I'm 66. This board brings me an immense amount of pleasure....sort of feeling like I'm home with the lads. There are some great posters on here and very rarely see something that I would object too because everyone is entitled to their opinion. I think the negative stuff about Gelhardt recently to me was uncalled for especially when the young lad was trying his best....whether he was good enough was another story but if someone pulls the red and white shirt on and gives 100% that's all I want....better then than them f*cking mercenaries we have had in the past....they deserve the criticism. Never been one to give up....if you have a set back you just put it behind and move one...our team has had enough in the past.....lol. Would love to meet up with you and others on the board in the future...so I'm hoping I can make that happen one day. Shame this board doesn't give out medals of honor as surely the amount of times you have helped others out you would be covered in them...it must give you a huge amount of satisfaction on the pleasure you have brought to others so they could watch their team. It's the old saying actions speak louder than words.....your all action sir. After this last season I'm looking for to the next one and future ones with great optimism....it seems at long last our club has it's sh*t together. Onward and upwards...best...LA

I try to miss as much as I can when Harry and his Lady feature in THe News.

But I did pick up on his losing his court case against The Government for refusing to allow him Police Protection, even if he volunteered to pay for it.
They say that this will have knocked him back abou half a million in legal fees.

Up till this reverse, his forays into the Compensation Game have proven to be profitable.
However, in the long run the only winners in that game tend to be The Lawyers.

With more cases in the pipeline he could be in for an interesting time of it.

If by any chance he loses them all, it will make a dent into his earnings from his 'Autobiography'.

I suppose, if he takes any more canings, he could always do a follow-up. How about 'Spare The Rod',

It's highly hypocritical to denounce the Royal Family ...

... they expect the privileges if affords.

True enough, and I speak as a supporter of the institution.
I happily confess to being a Monarchist, for those that prefer that term.

But Harry reminds me of Anne Robinsons parting remarks to contestants voted off 'The Weakest Link'.
'YOU ARE THE WEAKEST LINK, GOODBYE'.

So, as he has, in effect, resinged from THe Royal Family, he no longer qualifies for the priviledges.

I don't think too many people are unhappy at this.

I'm ambivalent about the Monarchy but love the history and all the trappings. I look at the whole thing as entertainment and am pleased for the people who love it all.

As far as Harry is concerned I'd be having a word if I was a close mate. He's putting himself out on the longest limb with a saw in his hand imo. He's alienating himself from his own family, fair enough. But his popularity, in the US, was based almost entirely on being part of the Royal Family, certainly not on his very limited charm and wit.

So an au revoir from Meghan and where does he go, what does he do ...

... he can't come back here to do f**k all and doesn't seem to have mates or any purpose here. The US will probably side with her and his popularity will further plummet as it seems to be already.

The way he's going he won't even get first dibs on the CDs <laugh>

i quite liked harry, he always seemed to be trying to be 'one of the lads' and showing that royals can still have a good time (although he did go over the top once or twice), i have no idea what was said to/about her and from the bits i have heard she is the only one that does know which makes me think that she is in a good position to embelish a lot (should she wish to) and that makes it harder to believe.

right now, they gave up on 'being royals' and the only time i feel ready to hoy summit at the telly is when they still insist on calling him 'prince harry'.
