Jenkinson is English, but is also eligible for Finland. He qualifies through his Finnish mother. He could be worth putting in the U21s.

He hasn't represented them at senior level, so he could still switch.

He's surely in with a shout as a PL first teamer.

If England can somehow navigate themselves out of the group then we have a great chance of winning Euro 2012. Lessons must have been learnt from the disaster of South Africa and with Wayne back fresh and raring to go - I wouldent be in the least suprised if England go on to win Euro 2012.

I just love the optimism of football fans .... Saints fan can afford a bit of optimism, but I'm going through the family tree looking for a link to Spain. Italy. Honduras you name it!

Are you a Norwich/Huddersfield fan? Pilkington is a strange choice, good player though.

Today showed that we can do park the bus and kick and rush. It does however need a striker like Carroll, Holt or Lambert (just 3 examples) who is strong in the air and can hold the ball up, but also play in others and create opportuunities..

    Hart
    Richards...Jones...Lescott...Cole
    Wilshere...Parker
    Walcott...Rodwell...Wellbeck
    Lambert

I am a Saints fan so Lambert went in, but it could be any one of the target men. I was very impressed by the energy of Rodwell and his willingness to make attacking runs and I think he could be very useful in a quick break. Wellbeck and Walcott are obviously very quick, as is Sturridge. Wouldn't be pretty, but there's a chance it could be effective.

I thought Jagielka was excellent today considering he was managing an injury. Solid display but we need to show we can do it when it matters.

Jagielka has always performed for England. Parker booked his first team slot today, I thought Walcott was very good as well.

Doesn't really matter who the personnel are. If England can swallow their pride enough to set up defensively like they did today against Spain, and like Greece did in Euro 2004, then they can win Euro 2012.

    IF they swallow their pride...

Is it really that much of a strange choice though? No player has made that left flank his own whilst wearing an England shirt for years now... We have no 'big names' or obvious candidates at left wing.

Pilkington, Bennett, Sinclair, Dyer, Chamberlain, Lallana, Cleverley, Sturridge and Agbonlahor... In my opinion all 9 of those players have a genuine chance of breaking into the England squad before the Euros, to stake a place on that plane next summer. I wish Fabio would just give a few more of them a chance - they've all been superb this season and could well be successful 'wild cards'.

    Hart,

    Richards, Jagielka, Terry, Cole

    Wilshere, Parker, Lampard,

    Walcott, Bent, Young.

Subs; Green, Jones, Lescott, Barry, Milner, Johnson, Welbeck.

Squad players; Fielding, Walker, Cahill, Baines, Rodwell, Gerrard, Downing, Sturridge, Rooney.

Bent will play the first 3 games covering for Rooney then after Rooney has served his suspension he will start and Bent will take his place on the bench. I've put Gerrard as a squad player at this moment in time as he is out for a long period due to injury.

    My Team:

    Hart
    Richards Jagielka Terry Cole
    Wilshere Parker Gerrard
    Walcott Welbeck Young

Subs: Carson, Jones, G Johnson, Barry, Lampard, A Johnson, Bent

Squad: Fielding, Cahill, Baines, Rodwell, Downing

23-man squad. Leave Rooney at home cause he was stupid enough to get a red card and it would be unfair to kick out the striker who is playing in place of Rooney once the knockout stages have been reached.
