The manager at Blyth is called Cuggy and is related the Cuggy who used to play for SAFC and is a self confessed SAFC supporter so give the Spartans your support
I went to the then St James' Park to support them in the 1970's when they played Wrexham in the 5th round of the cup...I wonder what happened to that stadium?
He must be grandson. Frank Cuggy played right half in the 1913 Championship winning side. He got a losers medal in the Cup Final at Crystal Palace that year as well. He played for England twice but they were two losses (both to Ireland) and then the war interrupted his career. I think when he finished, he went to Wallsend as manager but could be wrong.
Looks like he's going to be the first manager in the history of the club to get them relegated too! I was there today, and Blyth were ****e. First loss I've seen at Croft Park all season!
0 - 2. It's a shame because I was hoping for a decent cup run. The club desperately needs the money and ESPN were talking about following Blyth through the competition had they got past Goatsheed. Blyth have lost a lot of the quality that kept them in the top half last season, and have replaced that with players from leagues below, so are now rock bottom. The team has been shattered by injuries to key players too. Just lacked any form of confidence and the gutless display made Gateshead look like Barcelona.
