ESPN claim that Feyenoord sporting director Dennis te Kloese (yes, him again) rejected our offer for Arne Slot and thundered that there is no release clause in his contract Considering how many sources have said that Slot has a release clause, coupled with ESPN having a demonstrable track record of talking absolute ****e, it's probably safe to ignore this one for when SpursWeb inevitably churnalise it - not least because it sounds a lot like ESPN got the wrong end of the stick about te Kloese wanting to remain at Feyenoord when we made him an offer last week
Sami Mokbel says compensation for Slot will be over £6m as he’d also bring two assistants with him; Marino Pusic and Sipke Hulsof. Sportwereld say his agent, Rafaela Pimenta, will speak with Feyenoord about his future, whilst Mokbel says it’s because they’ll be informed he wants to leave for us. Looks like we could be getting a Tottenham Slotspur unless anything changes or goes wrong… which… well… you know.
Sam Mokbel is claiming we're planning to pay more than the £6m because we're also looking to bring in his assistants Ramiro Pusic and Sipke Hulsoff So let's call it £10m for the set and move forward, eh?
That would be the sensible thing to do. Levy will first bide his time and wait for slotty to maybe show his displeasure then he'll play chicken and offer up 1 million followed by 1 million and a packet of crisps then 1 million + Moura 1. and it will go 2 ways slot will be pissed off and move on to a different club who want/need him 2. Levy will get him for 5m and save himself a million but it will be 2 days after the season has begun
Quite possibly but since there is no sure way of telling if Slot will be better than Mason, what is the reason we would pay money to bring him in?
Slot has just won the league (albeit in a lesser division). Ryan Masons record looks like fat franks (admittedly less games). If you install Mason as the boss you may as well just install HBIC, at least levy will save a few bob and he would be braver with who he plays.
Not sure SpursWeb would appreciate my first summer signings being a couple of 17 year old Greek CBs...
Don't joke, with Maguire reportedly available for £40m this summer there's some Spurs fans considering it Why not bring in Phil Jones instead? Just as HG, just as useless, and wouldn't cost us a penny
Sadly, it seems that Feyenoord's shooting coach is not going to be part of the package of bringing in Slot In other words, we sadly won't have the Bottlers' collective nervous breakdown at seeing Robin van Persie as part of our coaching team
Gary Jacobs and Rob Draper both claim that Slot is meeting with Dennis te Kloese on Wednesday to negotiate his departure, which presumably involves Rafaela Pimenta pointing out that Feyenoord are getting in the way of her agent's fee Especially if, as AD claim, they're expecting €25m...
It’s certainly gathering pace. let’s just hope it’s not like that time Crystal Palace appointed Frank de Boer.
Don’t… just don’t. I am quite hopeful over Slot though, I’ve jumped on the Slot train just as I did the Fonseca one a couple years back, hopefully this time the train doesn’t derail before even entering Tottenham station!
It’s a possibility! 5 losses from our first 5 games? Or will we go spursy and top Palace? Maybe even do worse than our 2 points from 8 games under Ramos? I’ll be fully behind the manager regardless, but I’m not expecting anything different and I will not be at all surprised if we’re in the same boat in 18 months time. If slot joins us, he’s coming in at a time where the life and enjoyment from fans is at the worst point it’s been at in a long time, so I guess the only way is up. He only has to play attractive football and get a mixed bag of results and he’ll go down as a club legend.
