Leicester take a pot shot from half way which hits Nick Pope in the side of the head while he’s reading his novel and just trickles over the line for a 1-0 win up the Foxes

FULL-TIME - Newcastle qualify for Champions League
    Newcastle 0-0 Leicester

    All over!

Newcastle have secured their place in next season's Champions League.

Leicester have a point but they have some work to do to confirm their safety in the Premier League on the final day.

I gave up hope the day dinosaur Sam was appointed. We don’t deserve to stay up, we’ve screwed up massively with signings and squandering money on players.

The PL is ruined by Sky and the money involved, the top 4-5, nobody has a chance of competing with them unless you become a rich man’s toy like Newcastle (yes I’m jealous and I’d take that right now).

We were just making up numbers and it’s no fun. I’m not going be be sour and claim I’d prefer not to be in the PL though, of course I hope for a miracle.

Leeds might win on the last day and Everton lose but West Ham will have their cup game in mind, nobody will want to get injured, Leicester will win that one. If a miracle does happen we’ve got to be on borrowed time.

Agree. it becomes a chicken and egg thing. It's great winning games and ultimately promotion in the Championship, but unless you can compete in the PL, then you just get thumped every week and you end up wondering where your next points are coming from, which becomes pretty demoralizing

Perfectly achievable to become say an established 'top 10' PL club though. Could be fun, it doesn't have to be a case of making the numbers up. Occasional European adventures and cup runs. etc.
We messed up our 3 bites at the golden apple and Leeds look like they have messed up theirs too - as you say, with some ridiculous mistakes on & off the field, but I would say Allardyce wasn't one of them, the damage was already done and he was a sensible decision given the crisis situation. I honestly thought Leeds would escape this season but it looks like I was wrong.
Hopefully it will be different under our current leadership IF we can get there again in the next couple of seasons.

I genuinely believe that staying up would be far and above the worse thing for the long term future for Leeds as a club.

I've said on here, if it's a choice of the two, I'd prefer Everton to come down, as they've stunk the place out, just making up the numbers for far longer than they deserve to.

Like most people on here and in wider football I've no strong feelings one way or another about Leeds as a club, it's just one or two of the dopey sods that have latched on to them that most football fans find tiresome, although those same bores try to claim it's some sort of hatred for the club itself. I guess they like to think it disguises the fact that it's them personally that are dull.

If they'd brought fat Sam in instead of Gracia then he might have kept them up.

I was talking to a Leeds fan and said "So, if you stay up are you giving Sam the job full time?"
He reckoned Yes, so I said "How long will that last?" as Sam doesn't strike me as a Leeds type manager, I'd give him 6 months before the crowd are baying for his blood.

I'm not blaming Sam, he was just a sad desperate attempt when the horse had already bolted. We should have sacked Jesse before the WC but we beat Liverpool at Anfield and the board bottled it.... I could go on but I know you don't need or want me to ;)
