Royal Spanish Football Federation has sacked 6 VAR officials following the Real Madrid game in which Vinicius was racially abused. According to reports the VAR officials "mysteriously" sent clipped video for the onfield ref to review. I know Real are the favoured club in Spain and I wonder would the sackings have occurred had it been another club's player but good to see something being done in football somewhere.
what does clipped mean? did the ref ask to see something and the racist stuff was removed before he saw it??
I don't think the sackings were to do with the racism from the crowd towards Vinicius. The away fans were racially abusing him and he "got into a confrontation with them" followed by an aggressive foul on him by a Valencia player, he retaliated and was subsequently red carded. Before the red card was issued, VAR sent the ref to look at the monitor but only showed the image of Vinicius retaliating ( hence the clipped comment) and not the full incident involving the initial bad foul on him. The football and referee authorities both said it was improper use of VAR and the official was sacked along with 4 other referees. Although it's headlined as 5 VAR officials, it doesn't make it clear why or how 5 officials were involved in the incident. (Sorry I can't seem to post the link but you can Google it if you need a better description than I've given.)
"RFEF and the Technical Committee of Referees were unable to find a reason for sending only the sequence of Vinicius' blow on Hugo Duro's face, not the remainder of the event".
it doesn't matter who bad you see fouled, in the rules retaliation is red. was the valencia player sent off also?
No. Not even a yellow. I was less concerned with the cards and more interested in the fact that at least one football association is calling out its own referees.
There’s many good defenders. I have to say, Liverpool’s Van Dijk is so good. I’ve met him many times with [the] national team, played in Salzburg, met him, he’s really good. That’s who I can think of right now.” Erling Haaland
Ignore the fact this bloke's a complete fcking nobhead, listen to what he's saying and give an argument against it. The only thing I can think of is that the more billionaire owners there are the less likely that is true.
with respect to him he is actually talking through his arse. he's comparing newcastle to city when city have massive charges of financial doping when city have in effect doped their revenues to the point of exceeding real and man utd etc. if newcastle are allowed to invent revenues from nowhere over this summer then they will spend like mad. if they are not allowed to dope them they simply don't have the revenues to actually buy what they need. he's also talking through his arse on man city taking 4 seasons. man city made massive errors with player buys and learned the lessons in changing managers type and players and keeping out of football decisions. newcastle have several issues to resolve in playing staff. newcastle have just spent the 150mil. they had joelinton and guilmeras and almiron so actually they have been the core. this is the same.moron who whinges and moans and beats as utd play games. he wants his head examining. it shouldn't matter what position newcastle go to, what should matter is HOW they do it. so frankly this clown is only desperate for Qatar to but utd and wallow in dirty money too., thats why he thinks newcastle spending dirty money will be fine too. guess what. man utd will be third richest club in England from richest. only a moron would be happy with that when the other 2 are doping.
I don't think this matters ----> he's comparing newcastle to city when city have massive charges of financial doping No way City are being punished beyond a hefty fine. The Toon owners will look at it and just not give a fck. if they are not allowed to dope them they simply don't have the revenues to actually buy what they need. <------I think this is a valid point (although I don't know the finances enough to say they break FFP by spending huge amount in the summer???). This is the one argument against them establishing themselves in the top 4. But I do think he has a point that now they've made Top 4 the model is there (granted it's bent as fck) to maintain it.
for the record 21/22 revenues 180mil. thats 5 mil more than brighton. transfer since? 160mil. even with amortisation and payment terms thats not actually sustainable. further the new rules coming allow 90% of renounces to to to transfers and wages with 60mil one off losses if in good shape. their wages were 170mil. so something clearly won't add up there unless they suddenly announce deal after deal with Saudi companies and jump the revenues to 700mil. this is precisely what the rules are actually supposed to be for.
I started watching and didn't get past his first comment - that he's amazed at the lack of respect being given.
