There was a time when England at Wembley used to go for the throat and played with a fast tempo and a swagger..now we seem to give too much respect to all that we play against and seem happy to contain but most of all its bleeding boring!
Does Wellbeck remind anyone else of Carlton Palmer, but with skill? All arms and legs and awkwardness. Potential to be a great player though - Wellbeck that is. Palmer was like a drunk spider.
Definitely not. Nothing to do with Chelsea or recent events, but because they have underdelivered for years for England but always seem to be in the team. The embodiment of our international disappointments.
Lets go with all the youngsters now. They've proved they're good enough so drop Terry, Lampard, Gerrard.
It was boring because that's the way Spain play...pass, pass and pass again! I'd hate to watch that every week tbh. Much prefer the thrills and spills of the Premier League!! I though England got it spot on tonight, we couldn't be attacking against Spain as they'd have ripped us to shreds! I thought Jagielka and Lescott were superb along, of course with Scott Parker. A great defensive performance and superb result. Well done England!! And Swords...I'd cheer for anyone in an England shirt and I certainly cheered Lampard's goal!! England 1 Spain 0...looks good doesn't it!!

Col I thought England's passing was abysmal and if that was an Rs game there'd be uproar on most sites, very disappointing. But I thought there was good energy in defence
I thought it was a superb rear-guard display and the big crowd at Wembley seemed to recognise that. I think we would have retained possession a lot better with Rooney, Young and Wilshire in the side. We did give the ball away a lot in the first half, but I thought we kept it a lot better for parts of the 2nd.
The same could be said for all England players. Not just England, but probably all national teams bar Spain, Holland and Germany, that's why International football has gone down the toilet IMO. I personally believe Gerrard and Rooney in particular have underachieved far more frequently than Lampard or Terry.
