In case you missed my earlier posts while you were away, here’s another one.
    https://apple.news/AQCfyGIoIT3eHdVgso23_fw

I will even highlight the relevant sentence from the article for you

“Pat Cullen, the general secretary of the RCN, had previously told members to accept the government’s offer of 5% in March but it was rejected in a vote by 54% to 46%.”

    Checkmate ……

I HAD ALL READY CHECKED IT MATE!

14 of 15 Unions accepted the offer some RCN members says they dont... 54% ... thats those that bothered to vote. Seems [ not back up to speed yet ] a month long vote to encourage a greater number to vote is coming up ?
The 14 unions should and some do wish to get it signed off have the bonus and the 5% ... .gov should say OK not happy with a deal that was "accepted" then off the table and lets start again with pay increases starting, when finally agreed from new tax year .. offer of the bonus withdrawn. In meantime the other 14 get paid as per acceptance date.
Whilst Cullen is / was how much pressure being put on the strike action to hinder the .gov ... and inversely affect our economy and yours and mine spending power.
Cereal supplies being reinstated didnt actually cause to much hardship on that front with supply, and cost only rose a small amount if any.... weetabix have gone from 8p per biscuit to 14p per biscuit in 5 months!!!

So I was correct , Cullen and the RCN had recommended accepting the offer, the MEMBERS had decided to turn it down , you suggested she had an agenda which is why the union turned the offer down, And my recollection of the events were wrong, obviously this isn’t correct as she’d recommended accepting the offer. Those are the facts. All the rest of the post above is waffle and distraction, no wonder you like Boris, birds of a feather :emoticon-0105-wink:

    as I said previously, checkmate

<doh>She’s the union leader she’ll do whatever her MEMBERS ask that’s her job. Your point was she had an agenda so that’s why she rejected the offer . She didn’t reject it, the union recommended acceptance, it was the MEMBERS that rejected it, nothing to do with her having an agenda,

that’s the whole point of checkmate, there are no further moves .

waffle or distraction won’t work :emoticon-0105-wink:

Nurses vow to 'bring down racist, anti-working class Government' in fight for better pay
RCN general secretary Pat Cullen is to warn that double the number of nurses could walk out for the next strike in fight for better pay.
    https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1...s-pay-cullen-walk-outs-government-rishi-sunak
I firmly believe NHS staff should get a fair and just pay settlement but what right has the union of any ilk got to bring down a democratically elected government, they should express their contempt for any government at the election ballot box.

I believe some very poor, weak and wrong leadership issues have been give by a pompous, overblown Tory party but how are they racist or anti working class? it's a lot of fudge to make rediculous wage demands, 19% for nurses, 35% for doctors and senior medical staff, train drivers on £60k already, demanding inflation rate plus pay rise, it's all a stinking nonsense and cloud cukoo land thinking.

I’m all for union’s representing their members and negotiating as good a pay rise as they can. It is not however in their remit to bring down a democratically elected government.

I have to say from the quote I’ve seen this isn’t the view of the RCN or their leaders either, but possibly more extreme individuals I also think highlighting these individuals views is tactic being used to try undermine the nurses and their union.

Because you accused her of having an agenda which she didn’t. It’s an important point. As they turned the offer down it’s pretty obvious they want more money on the table. Like night follows day. Stating the obvious.

your whole point was the strike was being driven by the union, and particularly Cullen, the truth is it’s the MEMBERS that are driving it. That’s not water under the bridge,.

confucious comes to mind a real mix in this post AGENDA THING WAS closed weeks ago so bring it up again and again? SINCE mAY11TH cullen made a statement .. she made a error in APRIL? and now supports the "more money " on the table which she previously stated was a recommendation to accept, and was voted down!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the one month vote will decide but 14 of 15 unions accepting aint going to help their cause .....

She is the leader of the union, she, rightly, will do whatever her members want her too, she didn’t make an error, she recommended the offer be accepted, it wasn’t , the members rejected it. It’s really that simple. You argued initially that she had an agenda, you were wrong, in your normal manner you are just trying to deflect with waffle and bluster.

Whether they will be successful or not I’ve no idea, that’s another issue. The point is the union are led by the members and as long as that’s the case I will back them. If, as you were trying to suggest the balance goes the other way, I won’t, and that’s why it’s so important, it’s the principle.

ASHTON ...you are waffling and blustering, or simply not reading and taking on board what is posted. You keep on reiterating the comments from over a month ago about an agenda. What bit about I stated it was water under the bridge and conceeded dont you understand!
My comments are Cullen made a statement she was wrong and now states she has changed her mind and will now press for more. A simple statementas posted I came back from an area with no or very little internet no shops so no papers and read her comment or saw it on a news feed NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do an agenda.
We will wait to see what the vote instructs. I will then maybe make further comments if appropriate after this is known.

PS had a ride in a brand new Volvo ELECTRIC TRACTOR UNIT ... WOWEE amazing. only did 200m but memory for life

More waffle and bluster. Did you even read what I posted. I will spell it out for you .. well try to no where have I said she isnt [ after the last thread re agenda was closed ] I stated she has said she was wrong before but admits she was wrong and taken a new stance that she now believes they should ask for more [ hopefully you understand so far ] she now awaits the result of the 4 week vote for instructions as to what to next. NO waffle NO bluster just straightforward statements of what is in the media.
NEXT POST WILL BE AFTER THE VOTE TILL THEN other things of more importance to sort out...............

if the opposition parties spent as much time and money on trying to help the economy as they do on petty mudslinging and character assasination we would likely be far far far better off economically and productively. Latest is a minister requested to take a speed awareness course to avoid points privately. I requested to do mine locally as opposed to travelling 140 miles [ was later to be found the camera was at fault regarding the lines in the road, mine was later rescinded as the cut off point on corrected spacing was .5 mph below offence ! ] So why not ask for a private hearing if you have a body guard etc to be paid as well! or the paparatziii gets wind and turn up in force. To go on the course you have to exceeded by a smallish amount!!
