Well, you have to don't you? If the team gave up as easily as some people on here we would be relegated already.
I'm still expecting a last-minute announcement from the Premier League that at least three other teams will be docked enough points for them to finish below Saints, so that we remain in this league, and can look forwards to another relegation battle next year. Or we'll enjoy ourselves in The Championship.
Interesting article about de Zerbi's arrival at Brighton and factors affecting managerial appointments, success and failure. https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...ghton-underlines-footballs-great-complexities
Some innate sixth sense tells me it's probably the latter and we'll be enjoying what some call "real" football in division two.
Nobody wants to be in the championship, but it is without doubt the best league (as in most open) in England - and maybe even Europe. It is a pure sporting spectacle. Nobody knows who will go uo or down. There is balance and possibility for all. There is no big six! Young players can be blooded. Bring it on!
I have a feeling that when Saints gained promotion from the old Division 3, Rotherham away was our first game in the Second Division, I think we lost but I remember what a step up that seemed to us in 1959/60 time.
