Since City won their first PL title (and after the oil money) they are responsible for 7 out of 12 title wins. That's a 58% share 4 clubs have made up the other 42%. In other words 4 other clubs combined can't even match City's percentage. At what point is does the PL just become another SPL?
guys. when was it ever thus? 1980s you could say it was us plus a few 1990s utd plus leeds, Blackburn, arsenal 2000s uld Chelsea arsenal 2010 utd city cheslea, leicester 2020s say us and city. the prem for all its cash is close to the German league, or French league or Spanish league for big club dominance. it's only the name plate changing and to 90/ of fans they don't win so it doesn't matter who is on top.
I'll add this then. In those 12 seasons Man City have finished outside the top2 Twice. And in those 2, they finished 3rd and 4th.
and what about man utd in the 1990s and 00s? all that stopped Chelsea doing the same was ambramovich self sabotage
Their dominance was never going to last as it was reliant on a single man. City's could last as long as the oil money lasts and how long is a piece of string.
I'm sure someone said the sale about utd money stemming from the biggest stadium in England back in the day. seriously, 90% of fans don't care one jot who is at the top as they can't aspire to ot. that's why city can get away with fake revenues.
City can do what they want and PL won't touch them because PL doesn't want the stain of having the club that's won the most of their titles lately being branded cheats. It won't do the PL any favours and these days all the top flight leagues are competitors for foreign tv money
If you're going to mention Leeds and Blackburn (although they did win one at least) them you have to mention Newcastle too. I'll ignore us winning the first one of the 90s (did as much as Blackburn) As you said for the 80s, it was us against a few challengers. Think that's usually the case; one standout team that is there or there abouts with other teams swapping about
newcastle didnt win it though. the prem has always enabled dominance by 1 team. city are only doing it via fake revenues or under the table money. cheslea did it pre ffp with spending and trying it again utd dis it with bigger stadium and more real money as well as most professional team going. we did it via similar in the 1970s and 80s. dominance happens. the fact is its accelerating via money whatever source that money comes from
Can see Leeds winning this. Wham are safe and players wont want to get injured just before a European final. All it takes is one player to pull out of a tackle or have second thoughts about making a tackle.
Yeah,it would drop Everton in to the **** aswell. I don't particularly want to see Everton relegated....
Everton go down and imo Everton go under. they need to be sold this summer and the stadium retained in their ownership.
