It might come down to salary negotiations though. Apparently he is second behind Sarr in the salary stakes - £50K+ per week. I doubt very much the club would be in a position to offer anything like that.
Injury prone players, coming towards the end of their playing days, surely have to think about which clubs, probably from a lower division would buy me, and want to pay me what I am currently getting. A dose of realism has to kick in when they think about moving home to the other end of the country, or living most of the year in a hotel, all with less pay. If you are happy where you are, take less, as you will get by somehow.
