'Manchester City have been charged with breaking financial fair play rules around 100 times over a nine-year period, which starts in 2009 and goes on until 2018' 100 TIMES! Surely at least one of them is gonna stick?
Yeah, I agree. I haven't a clue what the FA has on them or how concrete the evidence is. If found guilty the precedent has already been set with this sort of thing in Italy and Scotland. Juventus and Rangers were demoted... City's solicitors will try and drag it out for years. CAS aren't able to get involved this time, which I think is wrong.
Chelsea were found guilty weren’t they? Got a transfer ban. The FA haven’t got the balls to demote City. They’re a bunch of spineless cowards. City will be lawyered up the eyeballs
I find that’s an easy statement to make when it’s not happening to you. I would like to think my head would be in the same place if that happened with us, but my heart would be all over the trophies
I reckon the championship play off final will probably break a few records this year, lowest attendance, quietest, (excluding covid year) most long balls ever, most fouls, and as already mentioned, lowest TV audience figures.
They will never be found guilty of anything. They will never even be properly investigated, whatever is said. The EPL is run by people who are astounded to be in the jobs they are in, raking the money they do. Their absolute priority is to keep those jobs, not engage in a legal battle, which Abhu Dhabi would spin out for years and years. Torture by process. Saudi Arabia will do the same. To me, both are ex clubs, with teams now representing fairly odious regimes. As for the team, it's about time. Guardiola has had virtually unlimited money and six years. About time they won the CL.
I think cov will sell out and Luton is close enough to get plenty day trippers/clingers on and then add in the ‘football vloggers’ to boost numbers probably be 70k plus there
I can understand getting some sort of enjoyment out of it. Basking in the trophies and the wonderful football. But a rival supporter coming up to me and saying 'Aye, but you cheated!' would be more than sobering. In fact it would be a kick in the balls. Very much like a rival saying to me 'Aye, but your owners a murderer!' Theres no come back to it. Im not sure it would be worth it for me personally.
What do you class as “unlimited money”? Their net spend over 5 years is 10th highest in this country. Arsenal, Man U, Chelsea, mags, Liverpool, villa, even wolves have all spent much more in relative terms. They sell their players for big money and soend what they make according to the records.
I would probably class the 'unlimited money' as the money that has landed them with the 100 or so charges.
Yeah I was talking the pep era though as the poster was. He’s net “spent” less than most others so I can’t imagine others are not guilty of breaching the rules. The charges go from 2009-2018
Coventry's average attendance this season is 19,950, Lutons 9,854, so roughly combined attendance is under 30,000 Sunderland and Boro,s is just under 65,000. I recon the crowd will be a few more than 30,000 but I look forward to watching the final on the box with the sound switched off, I do this quite a bit to be honest last time was the Coronation Highlights and very enjoyable they were, but my main interest in the final is seeing who are the better cheats, and the lossers faces,at the end, pure joy.
Its like a career burglar, made millions over the years, finally caught out. Whilst he's been charged with over 100 burglaries he has been allowed bail where he continues to spend his ill gotten gains whilst doing regular break ins just to keep himself ticking over. Only this time the victims of his continuing crimes, whilst now aware of the burglars reputation, are still leaving their doors unlocked, accepting the fact that they are still gonna continue to get screwed over. That is until the case, if it ever does, goes to court in 5-10 years time. Why arent the other clubs kicking up a bigger stink though? Are they being compensated? Are they guilty themselves? Horrible.
I just do not trust their accounting at all. Many others, looking into it, don't either, though their money will keep the law and the rules at bay They can blast money without it hurting them when they get it wrong. They are effectively a country competing against mostly cities and towns, as are that horrible lot up there. Both beyond the pale for me. They are ruining football and it will get worse when Utd yield to Qatar. All it will take is bloody Iran to get involved!
They will be ****ting themselves should the focus fall onto one of them instead, there are way too many loopholes in football finance.
Yes , I was going to say to faraway that ironically I will watch out of curiosity to see how bad it is !
I think it’s very much the fans fault, they are more than happy to go along with it, just so they can falsely win trophies.
